I take prescription cholesterol that I alternate with red yeast rice. Red yeast rice is known to be a natural cholesterol reducer, although versions in the USA may have moderated this effect intentionally. Regardless, I take it as an alternative to my prescription. Historically I’ve used Weider red yeast rice, but decided to try these since they also have CoQ10 and Magnesium. Both these ingredients are recommended because both get depleted in the body also. For my prescription, I take separate pills for each. The red yeast rice in these is the same strength as the Weiders and these capsules are a little smaller than the Weider tablets. For both the dose is two pills. The CoQ10 in these is about 1/3 what I normally take with prescription but still a decent amount, and probably enough for most people. If, like me, you take all these ingredients anyway, the price is decent over buying three separate supplements.

The main ingredient of this particular formula is Red Yeast Rice, which some attempt to use as a statin substitute for it’s cholesterol lowering effect. Before attempting to use this kind of supplement for this or any other purpose, you should be aware of your health profile and of course check with your physician just to make sure that it will be safe for you to take. Please do not take any statement or suggestion in this review as medical advice, as it is only from my own experience and limited understanding.
That being said, this formula is seems to be nicely put together for the aim of addressing heart health. Many other formulas throw in everything but the kitchen sink, which is an approach I do not agree with as it’s important to examine and research all the ingredients of a formula to make sure they are suitable for you and also won’t cause any bad side effects or interactions with existing medications. Also, do not discontinue use of any medications without the consent of your doctor.
This formula, however, seems to be pretty sensible. I have also read that although Red Rice Yeast can possibly be an effective therapy for higher cholesterol (depending ultimately on the amount of active ingredients in the Red Rice Yeast), it may also cause similar side effects to statins which many people typically take CoQ10 to help mitigate. So it’s nice to have it included in this formula.
Additionally, they do throw in some Vitamin D, E, and Niacin and Magnesium. Whether or not this will benefit you, is up to you to decide. The 1200mg of Red Yeast Rice (2 capsules) appears to be a pretty standard dosage.
The capsules are a bit larger than most, but most people won’t have any issues taking them I am imagine. The bottle is professionally laid produced and claims this supplement is made in USA. It was also well sealed with plastic on the outside and an inner seal, which is always important.
After taking precautions and doing your research, you decide to take this supplement, this appears to be a good option. But make sure that it works for you and keep monitoring your blood work to be sure everything continues to be ok if you take this or any other supplement long term. And if you continue to have symptoms or concerns, make sure you seek out the appropriate medical help to investigate and keep things in control.

This order came with some capsules for heart health.
So, I believed that this formula was for heart health, given what was inside of these capsules. However, a quick glance and review of the contents inside of the capsules revealed that these are actually better suited for lowering cholesterol levels. They have a neutral, almost plant-like flavor. They never upset my stomach. The capsules are of normal size , so how difficult they are to swallow is dependent on the person taking them. The overall quality of the ingredients is good, as they are in high and therapeutic levels. I can’t speak for the effectiveness of these capsules, but again, they are in high, therapeutic levels, so I imagine they work. These are a decent value for their price, but it should be stated again: these are really for lowering cholesterol levels. Not so much for heart health.

I got this cause my fairy godmother told me it would naturally lower my cholesterol I don’t know if it is or isn’t but it isn’t hurting me to take it. Pills are easy to swallow and no side effects for me.
