The texture of RAYA Camphor souffle was not what I expected. Based on the souffle in the name, I thought it would be soft, but it is quite hard. It does not feel like a cream, it is solid. It spreads easily on my face, and I like using it with a face brush to add a little extra exfoliation. I like that it is practically unscented. I like how it feels on my skin.
I like the product but was debating with myself giving it three stars for the lack of transparency.

On Amazon, a full list of ingredients is only available in images that are hard to read. The product tub has ingredients in a very small font. I went to the Raya website to look at the full list ingredients and could not see anything on the web site unless I created an account and logged in. Very disappointing. I want to be able to examine the web site and the products without giving up my email and being spammed with promotional emails. This decreased my satisfaction with the product. I want to see every single ingredient for every product I use. I want it to be clearly listed in one place, I don’t want to give up my contact information to see it.

This was an innovative concept for a cleanser. It’s supposed to be a whipped souffle creamy texture to clean off makeup, dirt, and residue. But I can barely stick my fingers into it. It was The opposite of whipped. I ended up using a mask spatula to dig it up. As a cleanser, it did okay, melted some make up and did not irritate my dry sensitive skin. But the scent was awful. It has a floor mopping solution scent. Because it takes so long to wash this off and I can’t stand the smell, it’s hard for me to reach for this often.

I was introduced to this cleanser years ago at a spa. It made my face feel wonderful and cleared a lot of troubled areas. This cleanse keeps my face clear and clean. I see a difference when I don’t reorder in time.

As others have said, this isn’t the texture you’re expecting when you see the word soufflé in the product name. The first photo is wrong, the 2nd and 3rd photos when you swipe through up top in the listing are correct (I didn’t notice them when I ordered). I guess you could say it’s hard when you’re expecting a soft creamy cleanser BUT it’s easy to swipe your finger across it and get enough product to put on your face. I’m new to Raya products but I’m happy to have stumbled on them. They’ve been amazing for my blemishes and sometimes sensitive skin. I highly recommend this calming line to anyone with sensitive blemished skin. All of their products make my face feel soft and hydrated, they don’t cause any angry redness or reaction. And they’re affordable. I haven’t found anything I DON’T like from Raya. And I don’t hate that this isn’t some soft creamy type. I like trying new things. It was cool to get something different and I think it’ll last me longer because of that. But I do think they need to make that more clear in the listing, most definitely. I thought there was something wrong with mine when I first opened it.

I have really been loving this!
First, let me say, when I first opened this, I was really confused. I thought maybe I got a bad one. It is called a “Soufflé” facial cleanser, so I was expecting a soft, maybe whipped kind of texture. When I opened it and put my fingers in, that is NOT what I felt! It was hard and clumpy. So, I immediately thought that I must have gotten a bad one, one that had been dried out. So, I came on here to read the reviews, and saw someone else saying the same type of thing…how they expected a whipped kind of texture and were surprised at the texture that it was. So, then I felt better actually trying it out! And I’m glad I did! Just, really think they should give it another name so people aren’t confused when they first go to use it! 😂
So, when you go to get some of the product, it feels kind of hard, you need to really kind of dig into it to get some product. I found the best way to get the product is to have your fingers be damp (or if you’re using some kind of scooper, to have that damp). Then, you’re able to pick product up a lot easier. Once you pick up some of the product, it will be kind of stiff, hard, and chunky. BUT, once you apply it to your damp face, it instantly glides onto the skin, creating the smooth, whipped type of texture I was initially expecting. A little goes a long way! And the tub of this is pretty big, so it will last a while! So for $19 (at the time of writing this review), I think that’s a great deal!
When I put it on, the smell immediately made me think of Vick’s Vapor Rub. That isn’t too surprising since this product is made with menthol. It has a cool feeling on the face, which feels nice. The scent is a tad strong and usually I don’t like scents in my facial products. I can get past light scents, but usually whenever a scent is really strong, I usually don’t want to continue using it. However, this product, I just really love it, so I can get past the strong menthol scent. Also, once you wash it off, the scent is gone. It doesn’t linger afterwards. But, if you’re sensitive to strong smells or the smell of menthol, then this is not for you!
My face feels so clean, soft, and smooth after. I really feel like it has helped reduce my hormonal breakouts, and help the ones I get to resolve quicker. I’m definitely going to continue using this and will repurchase it when I run out!
I can’t believe you get 60 of these for $7.89 (at the time of writing this review)! That’s such a great deal!
