I’m not one to suffer from cold sores but every once in again, before I get sick, I’ll pop up with one. In this case, I popped up with one in the corner of my mouth, and somehow managed to infect the middle part of my upper lip. Oh, it was hideous! I tried two different over the counter ointments before I decided to search amazon for a better/quicker alternative. That’s when I ran across this product. As I mentioned earlier, I don’t suffer from cold sores regularly, so I debated on whether or not I really needed this large of a quantity (4 tubes). Finally, I gave in, and was amazed at how quickly they both healed. It literally cut the healing time in half without using even half! I highly recommend this stuff. You will not be disappointed.

Haven’t had a cold sore since my review. Since then, I ended up giving the remainder tubes away. Yesterday morning, I woke up to that tingling feeling in the corner of my upper lip. This freaked me out because I had a date in 48 hours! I thought to reorder but didnt think I would get it in time to start treatment and heal before the date. I took a chance and went to a local store, found it, purchased it and started using it right away. I also purchased some pepermint oil and peroxide, hoping the combination would speed up the process.
So, what I have been doing is cleaning it with the peroxide, applying peppermint oil on a cotton ball and massaging it into the affected area, then applying the Lysine ointment. I did this probably three times yesterday and woke up to find a huge difference in how the cold sore looked! This was just overnight and it’s barely noticeable now! I believe I won’t have to cancel date night afterall!
I swear by this stuff, and highly recommend this over any other product on the market. It worked rather quickly before but to speed up healing time, pair with pepermint oil and keep the area clean. Apply using qtips or cotton balls as not to cause or spread infection.

This stuff is a MIRACLE for cold sores. I’ve tried leading brands like Abreva and they help but this is sooooo much more effective. Usually cold sores take about 3 weeks to heal for me, and this product 1) really reduces the pain and is refreshingly relieving 2) speeds up the healing time by two and a half weeks. I am not exaggerating at all, this product saved my life from cold sores, and best of all, it is naturally formulated and much cheaper!!

I simply have to add my voice to the choir – this product is amazing. I had known about the effectiveness of Lysine against cold sores for a long time now. I would take a 500mg pill a day (when I could remember), and even went so far to buy lip balm making supplies so I could add my own powdered lysine to my own homemade lip balm. But, with this product available, there is absolutely no need. This product works – it’s spectacular, and it’s natural…. and this leads me to…
… being really pissed off at the pharmaceutical establishment. Everything we feel about cold sores has honest to goodness been invented by the pharmaceutical industry to make us feel the need for prescription medication that is far less effective than simple, natural treatments like this. Acyclovir has its place – absolutely, and perhaps even in concert with natural treatments like this. But, when people are convinced that even expensive drugs like Abreva are the only solution to their cold sores (or even, that they are “suffering” from these “debilitating” “outbreaks”), they are being sucked into misleading marketing. This stuff works, and its natural. If you want to significantly speed the healing time of your cold sores, try it!

The product description says (Pack of 4). Which means I should receive 1 package containing 4 .25oz tubes. When I received the first shipment it only contained 1 .25 oz tube. I spoke with Amazon, they shipped me a new order at no cost which was great and all but, when I received my second delivery it again only had 1 .25 oz tube. Now I could be bad at math but I’m pretty sure 1 + 1 = 2, not 4. Which means I’m still short 2 .25 oz tubes. At this point we already missed the bus, twice. Now I don’t get cold sores often, but when I do, I use this stuff and it works great! I’m pretty good at losing stuff which is why I hoped to get 4 tubes. I can cut my losses and keep just the two i received. Lets say I leave one in my pants pocket and it ends up in the wash. Bam! I’m down to 1 tube. I’m in a rush and apply some in my car, the tube falls under my seat and collects dust for 3 or 4 months because who has time to clean their car more often between running kids to soccer, basketball, gymnastics, play dates, birthday parties and the last minute trips to Walmart to purchase a quick gift/gift bag/card the way to said party, all the while forgetting to feed everyone lunch because the friggin party started at 11:30am and you’re already 10 minutes behind schedule so you stop at the gas station and drop $40 on Gatorade (which will get open and you’ll throw it out when you quickly grab the crap off the floor in the back seat so it doesn’t fall out when your kids rush out of the car in the carpool lane) and some cheese and pizza flavored combos/slim Jim’s. Then when you get to the party to drop the kids off you realize you didn’t go pee before you left so now you REALLY gotta go! You rush past the other parents who assume you’re blowing them off. Then the rumors start. You dropped the kids off at the party and everyone thinks you have a drug habit and are having an affair with one of the teachers at the school.

It does seem to work. Helps speed up recovery. Eases the pain. It’s overall a good product. Try it out!

I don’t think this worked for me. It didn’t relieve any pain or speed up anything. Best bet was to take lysine orally

I rarely write reviews but had to spend some time writing one for this product because it really works. I’ve suffered from cold sores since I was 10 years old and have tried seriously EVERYTHING but nothing works as well as this. You do have to put it on at the first sign (tingling and skin starts to turn red) I’ve been using it for a while now and so far if I put it on at the first sign the cold sore doesn’t even get a chance to develop. I have one everywhere now so I can kick the cold sore in the butt before it starts. Definitely a must have if you get cold sores.
