These are capsules and are kind of a mustard yellow color, which is a little bit of a turn off. They are very large, seems bigger than my other white calcium pills, but being a capsule, go down ok. I probably wouldn’t buy again just because of the color.

Calcium + Vitamin D supplement is a must for me. Most OTC calcium pill brands make me extremely nauseous immediately – to the extent that I often can not keep the pills down, even if taken at mealtime. On a Doctor’s recommendation years ago, I used PostureD calcium pills, and they did not upset my stomach. They are no longer available, so through a generic Amazon search 2 years ago, I tried these. Puritan’s Pride Absorbable Calcium 1200 mg, plus Vit D3 25 mg is a large, soft-coated pill that is easy to swallow , (has no taste when in mouth) and does not upset my stomach at all, even taken on an empty stomach. Relieved to find a calcium pill I can take!!

I am happy with product bc it is exactly the dosage of both vitamin D and calcium that my doctor recommended. I didn’t notice dosage was two/day so it’s a little over 2 month supply instead of 3 but I will purchase again. Some may have a problem with size of the capsule. I would have added a photo but not if I have to allow Amazon access to my camera. No thanks.

Bought this for my mom. She has been going through chemo and her bones are getting soft. She’s fractured her back a couple of times. They said she needed to start taking calcium pills. She was having trouble with the ones in the stores so I bought these. She’s been taking them for a few months now and has had no side effects. These are easy to swallow and the quality is good for the price.

I like these calcium capsules. I expect they absorb better than the tablet kind. They include the necessary vitamin D to help the calcium absorb and work well.
I took calcium for years for my bones, but a (grrr!) medical practitioner told me to stop taking them. Turned out that was the worst possible thing. Over the next several years I started having “incidents” with kidney stones which were generally minor though quite “uncomfortable”. When I eventually had one bad enough to put me into the hospital I learned that low calcium intake can *cause* kidney stones!! So now I have another reason besides bone strength to take these.
I have used more common calcium capsule/tablet supplements for years. There are only a few brands I trust and Puritan’s Pride is one of my favorites for high quality and good price. In something like supplements I think a trusted brand does matter.
The capsules are a little bigger than the pill form I took before. About the same size as my 1200mg fish oil capsules and I have no problem swallowing them together. Unlike pills you can’t split these capsules.
I’m very pleased with these Puritan’s Pride 1200mg Calcium+D softgels and they gets 5 solid stars from me for quality and value!
