This review is for the PureFormulas Pure Eye Support Capsules. After finishing the bottle, I cannot make any claims as to its effectiveness, but I can say my eyes haven’t gotten any worse. Sometimes things just take a while, though. The capsules were easy to swallow, there was no bad taste, residue, or side effects that I could notice.

I have been taking some form of supplementation of Lutein and Zeaxanthin since 2003. I have tried all kinds of brands, some I loved, some I hated… you know how it is…. I absolutely loved 1 brand, but they changed the formula or something about 5 years ago… they only do that when you have found something you love lol
I though I would give this one a shot since I am still trying to find one I love, and I kinda love it lol It is was to swallow and doesn’t leave a weird aftertaste (yes, I have had one that left a weird rose aftertaste before and rose/rosehips wasn’t even an ingredient!). I have noticed less of the eye strain feel when I take it and I absolutely love that I can stop taking a couple of other supplements because they are included in the mix here. The fewer pills the better!

The upside of this PureFormulas Pure Eye Support is that it provides one month of a good eye and skin support supplement at a comparatively reasonable rate . I searched the web for scientific studies with Lutein and Zeaxanthin . I found multiple studies involving formulas similar to this one that established the value of the this combination of nutrients for eye health as well as for skin. The capsules are vegetarian .
The downside is that there are too many capsules per serving.
It seems to me that everything listed on the label could have fit into one (admittedly large) capsule.
I wondered why the product would be presented in this way . I searched the web again to see if there was any benefit to taking Lutein and Zeaxanthin in divided doses . I didn’t find any information to that effect .
If you look at the page for this product on Amazon ,next to the price it breaks down the cost. It is shown as either 21 cents or as 19 cents( if you’re on automatic shipment) . That cost is not per day, but per capsule .
If you are taking three capsules, the cost per day for this supplement is either 57 cents per day, or 63 cents per day. So having three capsules per serving instead of two capsules per serving , and presenting the cost as per capsule, makes the product initially appear to be even less expensive.
On the upside again, this supplement contains the basic ingredients that were used in the studies I saw , and it does cost less than some other eye formulas .

I’ve been taking Lutein and Zeaxanthin for over 40 years and love what they do for my eye health. They are both highly recommended by physicians for aging eyes, eyes that strain during work, growing young eyes, or those who want to keep their peepers healthy. Each capsule within this supplement combines the wonders of Lutein and Zeaxanthin with a healthy dose of zinc for body and brain health, Vitamin E for skin and hair, and Vitamin C for immunity; all listed are also wonderful for the eyes. This is a great addition for those who are seeking a multi-functional supplement.
Although the dosage is 3 capsules, each capsule is on the smaller side and is slick and easy to swallow with a glass of water. They do not upset my stomach, nor do they cause me strange-tasting burps or indigestion of any type. I prefer to take my capsules with food for maximum absorption. The price for a month’s worth while containing so many extra body-health additions makes this a bargain.

Easy to swallow and little to no taste or aftertaste that I could tell, I know as we get older our vision can degrade, I thought it can’t hurt to give for the most part some of these common supplements a try, I can not say for sure how well this helps but it is composed of common vitamins and minerals and that I take these on a daily basis such as vitamins C and E and sometimes the mineral Zinc but this comes with Lutein and Zeaxanthin which is new to my intake.
Going to conclude that I have not taken these for a long enough period of time ( a few weeks) to know if this is benefitting my eyesight much, but maybe after a month or so of usage to really notice any changes, even though the way I see it, it never really hurts too try and take care of your eyes and at least the C and Zinc in this is also benefiting my immune system.

I’ve been taking “eye vitamins” for years and I know some of the docs who worked on the original scientific study that concluded that the supplement formula that was later made into the leading, patented brand of eye vitamin may help to slow macular degeneration. I have also watched as many alternatives to the leading brand have become available and have taken many of them, including taking the individual components as supplements, rather than the single formula capsule.
My concern with this particular supplement is that it is not independently tested. The formula is slightly different from the leading brand, which is fine because it limits the zinc which can be very difficult for some people to take and they may need to avoid infringing the patent on the leading brand. It is not the formula itself that concerns me, but that the supplement is in capsule form and has an odd smell, so that without any indication of production in a GMP plant or third-party testing, I’m cautious. It states that it is made in Miami and the bottle I received was manufactured in January 2024. No expiration date is indicated, which seems unusual. Since the purpose of taking eye vitamins as directed by a doctor is important, I would stick with other options, unless this manufacturer takes steps to reassure customers.
