I’ve regularly included glutamine powder in my post-workout protein shake to help with recovery. I’ve noticed that it seems to degrade a bit with time or exposure to air/light (so buying in the largest possible quantity isn’t always the best idea). The smell of this glutamine tells me that it is very fresh, and I appreciated that it came with a little 5 gram scoop, which is how much I typically take anyways.
I can’t say if this product is the absolute best deal available or not, but if you’re looking around and the price seems competitive, this is definitely a high quality product that I’d recommend.

I wanted to see if there is anything else I could do to help my body as I lift. We’re not talking about serious body building here but I wanted to make sure that my gym sessions are as productive as they can be. I do protein shakes after the gym but I felt like there was more I could be doing and got the Inner Armour glutamine powder to add to my post-workout protein shakes.
I like that the powder is vegan and fast-dissolving. There is no taste that I can discern from it which was key for me. I’d rather get the taste of the protein shake itself or of the monk fruit sweetener that I add.
One thing I have noticed is that I don’t feel beat the next day after a solid gym session when I’m regularly using this post workout powder in my protein shakes.

When I’ve mixed this Glutamine in with smoothies, I can’t tell that it’s there. But it doesn’t mix well with just protein and milk and I get a mild fishy taste. The protein alone mixes perfectly fine, but when I mix in this Glutamine then it gets clumpy. Since that would be my primary way to use this powder, that’s a little disappointing. If you’re planning mixing this in a blender with smoothies, though, that won’t be an issue.
I haven’t noticed a difference in soreness when taking this, but I also haven’t been consistent since I have to break out the blender every time I want to use it. I personally wouldn’t get this again.

I’ve been adding this to my creatine powder and protein powder to consume all at the same time after my workout. I haven’t noticed much of a faster recovery from the soreness yet, but it mixes well with everything else and I can’t taste it. I plan to consume the entire package and hopefully it will produce quicker results.

Supplements help close the gap between modern nutrition levels in our food, and the levels that were there when I was young. But, in my opinion, the supplement industry has both some of the highest integrity companies, and some of the lowest. So I try and give a detailed enough review to get to know the company and product better, to help you determine for yourself whether or not you want to try this one out.
When this pouch settles it is less than half full, yet it contains 60 servings!
If used as directed it will last two months.
The expiration date on mine is Jun 2027, so just under three years from now.
The powder has no taste, but does have a scent that I can’t quite place; it’s not off-putting though.
Lately I’ve been wondering when powder supplement manufacturers are going to realize the scoop doesn’t need a reinforced handle? The powder is light enough and the plastic strong enough that it will work with just a flat handle. That will keep powder from getting stuck in the nooks and crannies and then randomly free-falling when it’s right over something you don’t want it to free-fall on (which unfortunately is sometimes my keyboard =) Also, making the scoop rounded will make the powder come out easier.
One benefit of the pouch is you can tell if the scoop is at the bottom, and gently massage it up to the top so you don’t have to dig around so much for it. But don’t shift the bag around too much or the scoop will dive again; and you’re going to get your hand powdery either way, that’s just how it goes with powder in pouches.
I like my supplements to say organic, non-GMO, GMP-certified, 3rd-party tested, and made in the USA. This says GMP-certified and made in Canada (their website says it is in their own GMP facility). The product page also says 3rd-party tested, and that offer refunds if you’re not completely satisfied. This is nice, since Amazon doesn’t accept returns on supplements.
I look into the supplement companies I use because I’ve come across so many questionable ones. The pouch has the phone number (in Canada) on it. The innerarmour site is functional and informative. One thing it says in the blog is that Inner Armour was sold in 2021 to a team that includes UFC champion Randy Couture. There is also a toll-free phone number for North America.
I seem to take longer than most to see results when starting a new supplement, but that’s not a bad price to get a quality product from an established company.
