    I would never suggest that you decrease or eliminate your BP or anxiety medication, but a combination of taurine and GABA is worth a try. I think you’ll be amazed. I also believe in buying high-quality brands, such as Nutricology or Pure Encapsulations for these, or don’t bother to buy anything. If you throw in some Rhodiola Rosea and Holy Basil (Gaia brand for sure in my opinion), you may have life-changing results. You never know. A huge component is magnesium because most people are magnesium deficient (chloride or citrate is good). (Of course almost all M.D.’s will say all of this is hogwash, so you can factor that into the equation.) In researching hypertension, I bought another book on Amazon in 2014: “Advancing Medicine with Food and Nutrients” when I started having more trouble controlling my BP and needed to re-examine my nutrition. The book is pricey, but there’s a wealth of information in here that will benefit you over the rest of your life. I also bought “The Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine” at the same time: not as pricey. I see that this small but powerful book, “The Anxiety Epidemic” is sold on Amazon. For those with serious anxiety issues, you can do a search “tramadol anxiety.” A little known benefit of it is that it reduces anxiety (as suggested by an M.D. years ago). HOWEVER, no typical M.D. will prescribe it for that, and you would have to say that you find it more helpful then other medications for your shoulder pain, joint pain, or whatever. NEVER mention anxiety if you want to get it. By the way (not sure which book discusses this), usually a person takes more taurine than GABA, but for me, these nutrients, including GABA, have been an essential part of my life for decades. I take GABA and taurine every morning, but how could I forget L-Theanine. A really great product that you can take as needed and is also sold on Amazon, is ZenMind, which is an excellent combination of L-Theanine and GABA and I take one of as needed during the day. You can take more all of these things as needed, but you probably don’t want to take more than 100 mg of L-Theanine in a day, or maybe 200 mg, but it can make you a little edgy at that level. By the way, numerous studies have shown that L-Theanine improves performance in tests etc., and for decades I have taken 100 mg about 1/2 hour before the start of a test, important meetings, or phone or in-person interviews. You can investigate what your body wants/needs. A good way to see how things work is to set a timer for 1/2 to 1 hour after taking a particular item or combination. You’ll get busy and forget that you’ve set the timer, but then you stop and think about how you feel from head to toe. LOOOOVE GABA. Anyway, just my thoughts that I hope are helpful.
