I got this because of the zinc % –
as a woman who wears make up, I found this to be too greasy.
non-make up wearers and or men might like this just fine (as a matter of fact, I gave it to someone who really likes it!)

I have been scouring sunblocks for a while and I have found only a handful that have managed to fit into my rotation of sunblocks. I have spent a lot of time researching ingredients and very few manage to get those right. This one is in my top 3.
My requirements are that it only have non-nano zinc oxide (better for your skin and environment than titanium dioxide), no chemical ingredients for the UVA/UVB purposes (these end up being absorbed into your skin and give you other problems like being endocrine disrupters), recognizable ingredients instead of a chemistry lab or ingredients, and not leave me looking like a ghost, mime, or clown preferably (but this I can at least work around). I have both waterproof and non-waterproof sunblocks so this being waterproof is a positive.
Literally the only ding that this sunblock has is that the zinc oxide content is not quite high enough but it is close. The percentage zinc oxide would need to be 20% to be fully protecting. Although this being 18.75% is pretty darn close and I’ll take it. This sunblock will fit into my rotation for days that I’m wearing a hat or the UV index is not that high, like in the early morning or closer to sunset or I’ll be indoors most of the time.
The best part about this is that though all mineral sunblocks have the bad rap of leaving a white cast…this does not do that at all. It also, for being all natural, does not leave me looking shiny for hours on end. This sunblock was truly matte and did not leave my skin feeling like I was sticky. I touched my face a couple of times because I was in disbelief that this was still on. I know it worked though because I was working for a couple hours in the hot sun with high humidity, wearing a hat, but still getting some sun and I did not burn. The sweat that was pouring down my face beaded up thanks to the sunflower wax instead of just dripping sunblock down my face. It worked great for being waterproof, had I been out for a little while longer or without a hat, I would have certainly reapplied due to the amount of sweat I was pouring and that it says that it is only waterproof for 40 minutes. I really like that I didn’t see rivers of white pouring off my face.
I have sensitive and normally dry skin so the amount of moisturizing this sunblock gave was actually perfect. I know that some people are allergic to coconut oil so that could be a negative but for me it works fine and my skin was not at all irritated or looking shiny after application. This applied very easily and it did not take smacks of effort like some all mineral sunblocks take and it rubbed in easily and spread nicely. No streaks that I had to really rub around on my face. The consistency is very nice and there is minimal scent if any.
This sunblock makes my top 3 sunblocks and will be my go to for days when I know I might sweat a little but still don’t want to look super dewy. It is easy to apply, wash off, and leaves no white cast or irritation. For more watersports of sweat inducing days I will stick to Raw Elements tinted moisturizing sunblocks but for other days that are not so intense of activity and I need to have a non tacky face or will be indoors most of the time…this is THE sunblock that I will be using.

I’ve finally found a sunscreen that works wonders for my dry, sensitive skin. This Badger Mineral Face Sunscreen is perfect for me for daily sun protection. As someone with easily irritated skin, I was relieved to find this fragrance-free formula caused zero irritation.
One of my favorite things about this sunscreen is how it doesn’t leave a white cast – a common issue with mineral sunscreens. It’s incredibly moisturizing, which is perfect for my dry skin. I did notice it takes about 10-15 minutes to fully absorb, so I make sure to apply it well before I need to head out.
What really impressed me was how well it works under makeup. Many mineral sunscreens can be a nightmare with foundation, but this one plays nicely, allowing for smooth application as long as I give it time to soak in.
The only minor downside is the initial greasy feeling, but it’s a small price to pay for such effective, gentle protection. If you have dry, sensitive skin like me, You won’t mind the greasy feeling one bit. If you have oily skin it might not be exactly what you’re looking for. But II highly recommend giving this sunscreen a try if you are on the dry side.

This is an amazing facial natural sunscreen. I love all the natural ingredients that they have put into this sunscreen. It is nontoxic, cruelty, free, no nasty added preservatives that don’t need to be there. My face is usually very sensitive and prone to breakouts, but this did not break me out at all. It is even resistance against blue light defense. I do find it to be a very expensive sunscreen. The tube is only 1.7 fluid ounces and living in Florida we need sunscreen every single day so this will go by very fast for me. It contains 75% of zinc oxide and seven clean ingredients such as coconut oil, vitamin E, sunflower wax, seaweed extract and a few others. I highly recommend an appreciate the purity that the sunscreen consist of. My skin loves this!!

I absolutely love this sunscreen. It feels really lightweight on the skin compared to other sunscreens that make you feel weighed down and greasy. I also really like that it gives your skin a matte finish, so it doesn’t look like you have an oil spill on your face. This is a really great sunscreen to wear makeup over and it’s very moisturizing. I will be purchasing again. Highly recommend!

When you put this on your face, it’s almost like a primer. It has a smooth texture and leaves a matte finish. It’s slightly white, but not like thicker, cheap sunscreens. It also has almost no scent.
After I used it, my skin was a little irritated and itchy. I was surprised to see it had Seaweed extract in it. I didn’t think to check. I don’t react well to products from the ocean.
If you don’t have this issue, I imagine you’ll like it.

I was really excited to try Badger’s Mineral Face Sunscreen SPF 30 since I’ve seen it mentioned several times as a best-in-class sunscreen for use at Hawai’ian beaches. It lives up to the hype, with the 18.75% clear zinc oxide disappearing into my light/medium skin, and I love that the base of this thick cream is made of a short, clear list of ingredients. It is non-irritating, I could not detect a scent, and it didn’t change the look of my face. I did notice that the box does not mention whether the zinc oxide is non-nano, but the Badger website mentions that all of their pharmaceutical grade zinc oxide is indeed non-nano. I don’t often state this, but Badger’s Mineral Face is indeed a sunscreen which would be great to use anywhere, and most definitely will be taken on our next beach vacation. I received this 10/2024, and the expiration date is 8/2026. This one is definitely a winner for me!
