I am a cult fan of this sunscreen and i’m so sad they changed the formula. It has a more sunscreeny smell and is a little thicker. Because it’s thicker it feels more moisturizing but doesnt sink into the skin the same way. Takes a little longer to dissolve the white cast.

I just started using the Beauty of Joseon Sunscreen SPF 40, and I’m really impressed! My husband and I were on the hunt for a sunscreen that works for both our skin types—my dry skin and his oily skin. This one seems to do the trick perfectly! It’s lightweight and moisturizing enough for me, yet not greasy for him. I love that it leaves no white cast and is unscented, which is great for sensitive skin. The formula is amazing, it layers nicely under makeup, and a little goes a long way. So far, it applies smoothly without that sticky feeling some sunscreens have. As a fan of Korean skincare, I’m excited to recommend this one!

The tube shown on the left with the white cap is one of many tubes that I have purchased from the TikTok shop, which was selling from retailers of the legitimate Original Beauty of Joseon sunblock with NO white cast, NO sunblock taste or smell, and amazingly lightweight yet perfectly moisturizing, NO pilling, and perfect alone OR under makeup, and can even use around my sensitive eyes… blows away ANY other drugstore OR high end sunblock and I’ve tried so many!!!
The formula they are selling on Amazon is COMPLETELY different… With that horrible sunblock smell and taste, burning my eyes, and a very greasy, shiny, heavy finish, not fresh and dewy like the original.
I went on ChatGPT to ask why they’re not selling the original true Korean formula on Amazon and this is what it said:
“It’s possible that Beauty of Joseon has chosen to sell different versions of their products on various platforms for strategic reasons. They may offer a different formulation on Amazon to appeal to a broader audience, or there could be distribution agreements that limit which products can be sold through specific channels. Additionally, regulatory or ingredient-related restrictions might affect availability, and it’s also possible they are testing market preferences for different versions of their sunblock. For their original sunblock, you might need to purchase directly from their website or other authorized retailers.”
I really hope that in the future Beauty of Joseon decides to sell the original formula on Amazon because I don’t like having to wait a week or so like when I buy it from other retailers, but I will gladly stock up/wait longer for delivery rather than ever get this formula again. Immediately returned…so disappointed. ☹️

This is the third time I buy it, I love it so much. It is super hydrating and I love how it settles in my skin. I am not sure I would recommend this for oily skin but since it is not super greasy I don’t think is a bad idea to try it. For dry skin, totally worth it, go for it!

I’ve been really liking this! It feels good on the skin, and isn’t too heavy where you feel like your pores are clogged. I have very sensitive skin and so far my skin has been liking it! Not drying at all and I like that it’s more affordable for a premium sunscreen!
