I grew up using Banana Boat products and this sunscreen does not disappoint. The size is perfect to leave in the car or throw in my bag when needed and works well for sun protection. It absorbs quickly without any issues and we followed the instructions and waited 15 minutes before being exposed to sunlight for this to work properly.

This is a nice bottle of sunscreen that goes on light and easily, absorbs pretty quickly, and provides good protection under strong sunlight. It’s got a very inoffensive odor that becomes unnoticeable pretty quickly. This will definitely come in handy not just for beach season, but for ski season as well. The sun’s always there!

So happy to have found a sunscreen that doesn’t feel greasy!! This rubs in easily and absorbs quickly. My kids love it because it doesn’t leave white streaks – they feel silly when I don’t rub in all their sunscreen and white is left behind on their face. You really can’t even tell you have this on! Nobody has gotten a tan or sunburn since using it. Works perfectly!

The Banana Boat Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 in a 5 ounce tube seems to work just fine! The cost at time of order in November 2024 was about $13.00. The web description states it uses zinc oxide in the sunscreen. Now typically the zinc oxide can leave the skin with a white tinge. After rubbing in the sunscreen, I did not notice any white tinge at all. It actually blended in quite nicely. In most instances for me, I find that most sunscreens give me a burning sensation when I apply to my face. I was pleased that this product did NOT give that burning sensation to my face. It did not have a strong fragrance, just a very light smell that was not noticeable once it was on the skin.
The product was applied to the skin when doing some yardwork. While outside for maybe an hour, the sunscreen seemed to do its job. However, I cannot comment on the product function for longer periods of sun exposure as I have not yet tried it for a long hike.
Overall: All in all, I would say this is a reliable sunscreen that does as described.

This sunscreen provides reliable coverage without leaving that heavy, sticky feeling some mineral sunscreens do. I’ve used it on sunny days at the beach, and it’s done a solid job at keeping my skin from burning while still feeling lightweight. It rubs in smoothly too, which surprised me for a zinc-based lotion it doesn’t leave that ghostly white tint either, which is a huge plus.
The only small drawback for me is the coconut smell. I knew it would be there, but I didn’t expect it to be quite so strong. If you’re sensitive to fragrances, it’s something to keep in mind, though it does fade after a while. Overall, I’d recommend it for its effectiveness and light feel on the skin!
