So far I really like this protein powder and have added it to smoothies. Nice taste but not overpowering.

I have bought and enjoyed their nuts so decided to try this powder to supplement vegan protein powder. It is very plain, without sugar or salt, but has a strong almond flavor and can be mixed with other things. It is high protein and has no dairy or fillers. I mixed some with a little maple syrup, a dab of salt, and some almond milk (you can use regular milk, oat or soy milk) and mixed it up to a smooth and quite delicious amond butter to put on rice cakes. Very nice either like that or with a little jelly or jam on it.

The almonds used are not Organic, but are non-GMO. They are also blanched due to its light color. I’ve tried many different brands, this one is better than most as it doesn’t contain any fillers or bulking agents, However, there is something about that I don’t like once it is mixed, although not grainy like other products, it’s a little chalky. I used it 3 times, the first time just as a protein drink with coconut milk, and twice in fruit smoothies. I think it’s great for smoothies, but just mixing as a protein drink didn’t thrill me. When it’s gone I likely won’t buy this brand again.

I decided to try this as I am trying to incorporate more plant-based items into my diet and I use this as a meal replacement shake. What I love is you can make a shake in one of those shaker bottles with the metal whisk ball in it and it works very well, so you needn’t drag out the “bullet” or the immersion blender if you don’t want to. I also love the minimal ingredients, no cross contamination concerns for me (unlike most protein powders out there!) This is a very balanced drink with no added sugar alcohols or stevia or monk fruit—things people who have Interstitial cystitis cannot generally have without causing a flare up of problems. It has coconut sugar in it, but it is not overly sweet and actually in the drink I add a little bit of organic cane sugar, which my body can tolerate. This is how I make it: In a large Blender bottle, I put in 8 oz. cold water, 8 oz. of Oatly oatmilk, 70g in weight of this almond chocolate powder, then the smidge of organic cane sugar. Put on top, make sure the top is snapped on the drink port, and shake shake shake….It produces a lovely “not too thin, not too thick” shake that keeps me going until suppertime. I don’t get the stomach upset or bloating I have had in the past with different whey proteins or soy proteins etc…..I also love there is fiber in this so that helps keep the drink balanced in carbs and protein and fiber. I will definitely recommend this, as it helps me to make better food choices throughout the day since it satisfies without causing me to want more sugary foods etc… I have also tried the Vanilla and it works in the same drink ratio I spoke of and is a nicely balanced flavor without being cloyingly vanilla. This is a real review, as are all my reviews and I do not work for the company Octonuts, nor do I know any of them personally. I hope they stick to this recipe and don’t add other sweeteners since it is sooo hard to find one I can tolerate!

I purchased bc I wanted to add some healthy flavoring in my life. Not a huge peanut butter fan so thought I’d try this. Loved the size of package and it comes with it’s own scoop. I haven’t baked with it yet but I believe it would be great. I may buy some for my neighbor who is always baking tasty treats for her kids. I mostly use it in my coffee to increase my protein intake, occasionally adding cocoa powder as an exrra treat. It blends well and has a nuce nutty flavor. It is something I’ll be adding to my favorites list.

I was using a pea protein of a different brand prior to this. But the pea protein flavor profile was not consistent, the price was higher, and they ran out of stock periodically. I had to find something else.
As a person with gastroparesis, I use one or two shakes a day. I can’t have gluten, fake sugars, or dairy. This and Anthony’s almond protein powder are my go tos now. This one has more flavor than Anthony’s although the chocolate could be a little stronger. The coconut sugar does not spike your sugar level but adds the touch of sweetness it needs.
It blends fine in my shake, but I also use a blender to make mine.
If you want a “Reeses Cup” flavored shake (32 oz mug):
12 ice cubes, 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (original or vanilla), 1 cup chocolate almond milk, 1 scoop of this Octonuts almond protein powder, one scoop of PB fit protein powder. 270 cals, 16 g protein, 23 carbs.
(If you sub out the chocolate almond milk for another cup of plain unsweetened almond milk, it’s a milder flavor but works out to 200 cals, 15.5 protein, 14 carbs.)

I hate most vegan protein powders because are either gritty, taste horrible, have a weird after taste, etc. I haven’t been able to use any and I have tried a lot. Finally I found this brand! I got the vanilla and it is NOT over powering with vanilla but does add a light vanilla flavor. When mixed with a smoothie or oats is it great with no weird after taste or grittiness. I recommend for anyone who hates protein powders. It is a little pricey for the amount you get. If I was using this daily it would probably be too much for my budget.
