3 starts since there is little to no flavor. The calorie to protein ratio is the only saving grace for this. Maybe using a protein drink as a base with this could be good. Or using this as a topping for texture

I really wanted to like these. I got these to make keto protein crunch bars. Made my sugar free white chocolate and opened the jar to add the puffs to the chocolate. I spilled it getting the scoop out so I swept the ones that spilled on the CLEAN counter into my hand and popped them into my mouth and 1st chew immediately went to the sink and spit them out. I had to rinse my mouth out. Sorely disappointed I regrouped and reasoned that the sweet in the chocolate would absorb into them, I made a few small bars with them. They stayed crunchy and I couldn’t taste them at all as long as individually, thoroughly coated. So what I dislike, the taste. What I like, the crunch. Is getting the crunch worth it? No. Is the hit of protein worth it? No. Maybe this is like cilantro, 10 percent of the population thinks it taste like soap, the rest enjoy it.

I bought the chocolate flavor. I’ll start with the cons, then I’ll go with the pros.
Cons:
1. By itself, it really does have a chalky taste and texture. Don’t get me wrong, the flavor is indeed chocolate, but it’s more of a harsh and bitter cocoa flavor mixed with a chalky texture. So, pretty much a chalky cocoa taste. When I first tasted it, I cringed.
2. The size is smaller than what it is depicted. I attached a picture that compares it to one of my standard-sized mug. If you are expecting cereal-sized puffs inside a typical protein powder jug, be prepared to be disappointed. I know that this is supposed to be a one-pound jug, but the pictures does portray the puffs to be bigger than it realistically is.
Now, the pros:
1. Extremely versatile in foods. Even though the taste by itself is not palatable, it is great to add texture in desserts. I haven’t tried it in keto fat bombs (like from Serious Keto in YouTube), I have tried it in other keto chocolate desserts. The chalky and harsh cocoa taste is mostly cancelled by the predominant taste of the dessert.
2. To me, one scoop does really add the fullness I get from what I would get from a protein powder. The size of the packaging and pellets may be visually disappointing, but, to me, it adds a layer of satiety with the keto chocolate desserts I make with this.
3. Since one scoop does keep my sated and the flavor does blend in to my desserts I put this on, 30 servings for this for the price I purchased it for was pretty okay.
Additional thoughts:
Overall I’m pleased with this product, but I think I’ll purchase the unflavored one as I can assume that the harsh cocoa taste won’t be there. I’ll make sure to update if I ever did buy and try the unflavored version.
I only took off one star as the way the chocolate flavor tasted was really… well, unexpected. I would take off another star for the somewhat-deceiving depiction of the product size, but the sated feeling I get from one scoop and the amount of servings of one package redeems that one star.

I make protein energy balls that I always have on hand to munch on and these have been the perfect addition to them. Mix them in with peanut butter, oats, honey, vanilla extract, chia seeds, and dark chocolate chips or dried fruit, (I love craisins) and then shape them into balls and chill for a bit. They give them a nice crunch (consistent with rice crispies). Alone, they have no flavor of their own. But mixed into recipes and put on top of things like yogurt parfaits, they are perfect for getting that added protein.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I wasn’t quite too sure what to expect with these protein puffs but they are actually really great! I got the unflavored version so I could put them on multiple things but they do have a slight vanilla flavoring in my opinion when I tried them on my own. Recently I’ve been adding them on top of my yogurt bowls or smoothie bowls in the morning with fruit and honey. I’ve also thrown some in a smoothie to be blended and then into blueberry banana muffins for some extra protein. Always looking for some extra protein and this is the perfect option, can sprinkle them on everything and anything!

These are fairly tasteless – just maybe a hint of (or imagined?) milk taste is all. I’ve added these now to cookie dough and brownie & blondie batter, oatmeal, yogurt and cottage cheese, salmon salad, and sprinkled them on green salads. They add healthy protein & calcium (and even choline with the lecithin) source to these foods, and a great gentle (as tiny pieces), satisfying crunch. The packaging is largely biodegradeable and the plastic scoop (=3 Tbsp) is reusable. I haven’t found any whey protein isolate powder that isn’t gritty in consistency, and so many of such products use irresponsible way-to-excessive, unnecessary plastic packaging; hence, this is an ideal solution for me to add high quality whey protein to my diet with a super-versatile product, and not reward the irresponsible companies ignoring the need to reduce plastic production (and toxicity).

I now have both the unflavored and chocolate versions of this. I add it to my yogurts in the morning to add a bit of texture and extra protein. For 50 calories, the 10g of extra protein is a steal. I don’t find the unflavored version tasty alone. It is a little chalky. But mixed into something else, I don’t find that it has an unpleasant taste and is actually quite enjoyable. The chocolate has been a great addition as well, and adds a little “something”. I especially like it in strawberry yogurts. I would love if they came out with other flavors!
