I originally was excited about NADH because there were some bio cycles that showed it could increase NAD+ and it does in the short term. NADH is very good when taken at 5mg in a coated tab and rapidly increases NAD+ levels giving you energy and focus. However, the research shows that long term use of NADH can actually lower your NAD+ levels significantly to about half normal levels in 8 weeks when taking 20mg/day of NADH (see article “Does Oral Coenzyme Q10 Plus NADH Supplementation Improve Fatigue and Biochemical Parameters in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome?” ANTIOXIDANTS & REDOX SIGNALING Volume 22, Number 8, 2015). On testing this myself I found this data to be accurate, and the usefulness of NADH decreased rapidly the long you took NADH. This drop in effectiveness (actually negative effect) was why I began looked through the research on the subject and found this problem with NADH. Also, from my own experience the lozenges were much less effective than the coated tablets from Kal, with 5mg NADH tab from KAL producing significantly more effect than 25mg Lozenges from ProHealth. Thus, use Enteric Coated tablets 5mg and never take NADH for more than a couple days in a row or you can actually lower your NAD+ levels and get all the metabolism problems that that drop in NAD+ can cause.

Comes in a very nice bottle, easy to take, good labeling. Can’t order more because it costs too much for me.
Tabs are 25 mg. Seems that 3 or 4 tabs are needed for one day’s dose. Just my opinion. Will hunt for less expensive brand.

I like sublingual, transdermal, or liposomal pure supplements in bioactive absorbable form. This assures you that you are getting the full dose and it is not be broken down by stomach acids. D-Ribose is pure ATP precursor. The problem with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, and low energy levels results from your heart, brain, nervous system, and muscles being depleted with stress, poor exercise, bad health and nutrition. So D-Ribose is key for a source of ATP fuel. But it does not work without the NADH & Mitochondrial Optimizers I have listed as NADH co-factors. D-ribose is a sugar-like molecule that your body uses to make adenosine triphosphate, or ATP. ATP is the body’s most basic form of energy and the fuel burned by the cellular mitochondria. Our cells naturally produce D-ribose, less as we age, but the process is slow and different organs produce different amounts. The liver, adrenal glands, and fat tissue are high producers; the heart, brain, nerve tissues, and muscles, on the other hand, produce only enough to meet their daily needs. The heart produces just enough D-ribose to maintain itself—under ideal circumstances. When conditions are less than perfect, such as when the heart doesn’t consistently get enough blood or oxygen, production slows. That means ATP production slows, too.

I really like this product. I would place a tablet under my tongue first thing in the morning. Within 10 minutes, I could feel myself waking up, and I am not a morning person. The energy wasn’t a rush, like I drank too much caffeine, but more like I was awake and ready for the day.
