If I get a protein powder or meal replacement, I usually opt for chocolate. Normally the vanilla flavor tastes too artificial or just plain gross. Primal Fuel Vanilla is definitely the exception. I love this stuff. I normally mix it in with some plain greek yogurt. It dissolves completely, not at all gritty, and adds this lovely thick creamy texture to the yogurt. Add some berries and almond slivers to take it to the next level. I’ve mixed it into smoothies and it’s just as good. I only ever really need one scoop though. It’s delicious and I prefer it over the chocolate Primal Fuel. I’ve never gotten any stomach issues from consuming this. I personally love the taste, doesn’t have a “sugar-free” aftertaste, but taste is completely subjective. It’s definitely worth a try, especially if you’ve had bad experiences with vanilla flavored powders. I love that it’s a meal replacement and to simply a protein powder though it has 10 g of protein per scoop. I don’t know if it’s supposed to taste like coconut, but it doesn’t which isn’t a plus or minus for me.

I bought the vanilla and chocolate flavors and they were both delicious. I love the subtle coconut flavor. I actually looked forward to getting up in the mornings and having a yummy shake. I would usually mix in almond milk or hemp milk. My favorite was the almond milk chocolate shake mix with banana mixed in. I took away one star because no matter how you shake it there will be gritty clumps floating on the top; however, if you use a neutra bullet or any kind of smoothie blender you will end up with an amazingly smooth and creamy shake that tastes wonderful. I kept my shake mix in the refrigerator for about 5 months and had no issues with it going rancid.

I heard so much about this product from Mark’s blog andI really wanted to like it. But the coconut flavor was overpowering and I’m a fan of coconut. It also wasn’t a good coconut flavor. Even if it had been, it was too much coconut. I can’t do vanilla so chocolate is non-negotiable for me as far as protein powder. Texture of the powder is great. I love coconut. That’s an understatement. I’ve tried other things that are coconut flavored and it’s always hit or miss. When reading the reviews of this product, I closed the page and decided against it. But later in the day, I decided that I would give it a try despite some bad reviews.
I received it today and made one immediately and absolutely LOVE it. I find it delicious. The first one I made I mixed with coconut water that was ice cold and it was just so good. I tried a second one with just water and that was so good too.
You never know someone else’s taste so be careful that you don’t pass by something that you might love but skip because of reviews. That said, it can also happen the other way round too. In any case, if you give this a try, I hope you like it as much as I do.

Primal has become my go to for protein powders since there are SO MANY that have sucralose in them that I just cannot handle. The chocolate has a great flavor and blends well in smoothies and high protein ice cream. I recommend this product and will purchase again.
