Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid (building block of protein) in the body. The body can make enough glutamine for its regular needs. But during times of extreme stress (the kind you experience after heavy exercise or an injury), your body may need more glutamine than it can make. There is no real difference between glutamine and l-glutamine in supplementation. The “L” in l-glutamine refers to the glutamine used by the left side of your body, which is the most effective for you. Whether it says “l-glutamine” on the container or just “glutamine,” supplements always use l-glutamine.
Anecdotal evidence has suggested that as little as 20 grams of glutamine per day is effective for weight loss (spaced out as approximately 5,000 milligrams four times daily). Up to 50 to 60 grams per day is widely considered safe, but check with your health practitioner to find out what’s the safest option for you.

As with any supplement, there is really no way to tell that they are actually providing you with any benefits. Unless you are able to be tested to measure uptake and efficacy. Outside of that, these seem to be decent at providing at least some benefits from the supplement.

The vagueness on testing data makes me a little cautious. With any dietary supplement, there is a high risk that you aren’t getting the product you thought you were buying, because the US lacks any regulation over claims being made by the manufacturer.
NSF provides registration, certification and audit of Good Manufacturing Practices for dietary supplements, personal care products and OTC drugs. This product is not NSF certified.
Also, the prescribed dosage on the bottle is a little low. For most usages, you will be taking twice as much as what’s indicated.

I’ve always used L-Glutamine in the past and present for workout recovery. Primaforce is a good brand with good performance products that I personally used before. This in particular is in capsules and they are easy to swallow, size of the capsules is normal, and I’d say this product is a good value for the price 👌

These seem to be good quality Glutamine tabs. I like these amino acids and this bottle seems better than the general ones you can pick up at Walmart of whatever and more cost effective than GNC or whatever. I will finish this bottle and revise the review as needed. If all is well then I’ll probably get the same again.

I’ve been weightlifting for years, and this is the first time I’ve tried any L-Glutamine product, and these capsules I’ve used for about a week now to supplement the usual protein powders. I’ve used this Primaforce brand for ZMA supplements in the past and those worked very well for me, so in my experience this is a very trusted brand. These capsules have no taste and are easy to swallow, so they are very convenient to take in seconds, so that I don’t have to worry about another powder to mix.
So far within the first week, I’ve noticed the ability to squeeze in another rep or two when I get to the heavier weights, which I hope is this L-Glutamine and not just the placebo effect. But so far, so good.

I’ve been taking glutamine for a quite a few years as a regular body building supplement. Allegedly, it will help reduce muscle breakdown during training, help volumize muscles, etc. That is, if you can get enough in because your digestive system itself will absorb and use it.
The only way I can compare same supplements is by taste. Glutamine has a faintly sweet taste and this one is slightly less so than my previous brand, but not dramatically so. They’re very similar. It’s possible that’s due to additives.
It seems like an average value as far as price/count goes, but I didn’t go any deeper than that.

Most folks looking for glutamine know what it is and how it helps in weight lifting. This glutamine is no different than the others I’ve taken in the past, but Primaforce is a brand that I trust for high quality supplements. Unsurprisingly, this has been working as expected. To me, this seems to be a really good deal with 150 servings. Depending on how much you work out, this bottle could last you quite a long time.
