I’ve never tried this supplement before in isolation from other sports nutrition ingredients. As with all never-tried-before supplements, it’s necessary to take smaller amounts, so I took only 1 capsule with a glass of water on an empty stomach around noon to check if any side effects would follow. I didn’t notice any unpleasant smell or taste. Throughout the day, I didn’t experience any gastrointestinal issues or significantly increased blood pressure/temperature. I felt more energy and less fatigue. This means I’ll continue taking this supplement and gradually add more caps up to the recommended daily dosage. It would also be appreciated if the manufacturer provided the information regarding the source (meat, fish, eggs, microbial cultivation, etc.) this product has been derived from.

Beta-alanine is a proven performer in the weight lifting world. We are by no means a power lifter or a body builder.
After an back injury suffered at work, I’m always looking for ways to rehabilitate and improve.
Presently our full body exercise of choice is push ups. With a back brace on,.. it’s not pretty, but it gets the job done. 😅
When we read that beta-alanine may increase our endurance,.. we jumped straight in and took a full dose to see what it’s all about!
In about a half hour it kicked in,.. and we soon regretted taking the full dose,.. all at once.
We like to thin of ourselves as a well researched, well written and highly experienced, natural supplement taker.
During our search for better health,.. we’ve tried just about everything out there. Usually,..there are zero allergies, very few stomach issues and rarely an issue.
We were so sure of our iron constitution, that we completely ignored the warning on the bottle about itching. Which is why we are relaying this warning to you,.. and offering a solution if you fond yourself itchy after taking this supplement.
When we slammed down all 4 pills at once, it only took 20-30 minutes to feel the first surge of prickly, itchiness.
For comparison, it felt similar to the flushing experienced when taking Niacin. With some pins and needles thrown in for good measure.
Both the warning on the bottle and a quick google search advised this sensation is harmless and will go away,.. it was and it did,.. but it was both present and uncomfortable for a good two hours at full dose.
Later in the evening, when this itchiness had completely dissipated,.. we strapped on the back brace and did some push ups.
To our surprise, we did 30% more push ups to failure.
Thinking this improvement required more research and might even be worth the itch; decided to try again the following day.
Not wanting to repeat the 2 hour itch fest we experienced at full dose, and having done a little more research on dosage,.. decided to spread out the four capsules evenly throughout the day.
This spacing of the dose, it turns out, was a big winner. The first day, there was a slight itch response, very subtle and it lasted 30 minutes as opposed to 2 hours.
The next day, as our body became more used to the supplement and it built up in our system, the itch sensation lessened to almost gone.
In addition to losing the itch factor, we increased our push ups in one setting by 50%,.. and later began doing multiple sets of this increased number, multiple times a day.
We tried bumping up some of our basic aerobic routines,.. but saw no marked increase in endurance for high energy work outs.
The muscular endurance for push ups and minor weight lifting continued however, and the itchy sensation remained at bay.
If you are someone who lifts weights,.. are older and wants an edge at the gym, or have reached a training plateau,.. beta-alanine may be just what you’re looking for.
If you’re one of the lucky few,.. you may not get the itch sensation at all. Apparently there are some who never experience this common side effect.
If you do get the itch, our recommendation is to reduce the dosage, gradually work up and space the divided dose throughout the day.
We didn’t see any sleep disturbances when supplementing before bed,.. no tiredness or mental fog when taking in the morning.
The last bit of subtle itchiness you experience seems to lessen when taking the supplement with food. Conversely, you may sense it more if you take this supplement on an empty stomach.
Your mileage may very, but we found this supplement to be very successful at increasing our capacity for weighted exercise.
While we’re just making small improvements to our physical therapy/ rehabilitation program,.. based on our experience we’re pretty sure if you lift weights or do body weight exercises, you will also see marked improvements.
Give it a try! Start small and work up and it’s bound to work out.

I got this but waited to use this until I starting working out again consistently, which I’m doing now that I’ve taken up pole fitness. I’ve been using this for a little over a month now and even though there isn’t too much of a difference yet, there is a noticeable change in my workout performance and I find I can practice for longer periods now. Hopefully there will be more improvement as I continue taking it Also I didn’t notice any flushing or anything when I took it, just some slight tingling for a few minutes after taking it, which went away after a week or so of using it.
