Interstitial cystitis is now used as an umbrella term. And has absorbed overactive bladder syndrome, painful bladder syndrome,and several other diseases. It can mean many different things from person to person. When i was diagnosed with interstitial cystitis, it was a rare disease only affecting women post pregnancy or childbirth and at least 35 years of age. I was none of those. I was 15 with no prior pregnancies or use of birth control. I had had chronic recurring utis for 10+ years, was no longer allowed to take antibiotics, and had been incontinent my whole life. I was in constant pain and always had blood in my urine. So i got the entire shirtstick. I have no bladder lining,constant ulcers and infections. I have a neurological disorder called fibromyaglia and early onset neuropathy and somewhere in the mix of that my nerves are kinda fried so i have constant muscle spasms, loss of muscle control, and all around weakening of the bladder muscle itself. My body cannot naturally regulate normal conditions nor sustain healthy bacteria and such. So for me, they go hand in hand. A flare up of my IC leads to and encourages a UTI because my urine is full of bad bacteria and my urine is so acidic it eats ulcers in the muscle which then get infected. I have been able to regulate with the use of prelief (i take 3 do uses a day with my regular medicine) Elmiron, and oxybutynin. I haven’t had a flare up since i started taking them. My life has been changed dramatically. My only drawback is that taking it regularly has given me acid reflux and i can’t drink water without getting heartburn anymore.

I have pretty severe I.C., so bad, sometimes I was unable to get out of bed! My doctor gave me a huge list of foods I was gonna have to give up (and I already have a restrictive diet due to food allergies). Coffee was a major trigger for my IC, but I just couldn’t give it up. I literally stumbled upon this supplement (I was looking for something to help with my acid reflux) and I read reviews on this. A lot of people were having success with it combatting IC issues. I thought I’d give it a shot! SUCCESS at last!! Truly a miracle. Every morning, I take one of these before my morning coffee and I’m IC symptom-free!! I ordered a small bottle of these too and carry that bottle in my purse. As for the acid reflux, I’m finding out mine isn’t so much a dietary issue (more of, I’m not producing a enough acid). For my acid reflux, I use apple cider vinegar which would also severely trigger my IC, but now when I take my vinegar, I use one of these supplements as well and it works fairly well, not perfect, but the irritation is more bearable. If you have IC, GET THESE, you will not regret it!!!

This product was recommended to me by a doctor for IC pain. Really have to say it has made a huge difference.
The product is superior to any acid reducer on the market which suppress or completely shuts down the stomach acid we require daily to digest our food properly. It also does not cause hair fall out, dizziness or rebound heartburn. I know this because I was put on all of them by my GP and suffered all of these unpleasant side effects. This product does not disrupt the stomach acid like Prilosec or Tagamet. It neutralizes acidity without disruption. I enjoyed a glass a red wine for the Game of Thrones season opener for the first time in 2 years with no stomach burning or bladder pain.

The caplet is about the size of a white Tylenol but a wee shorter and a wee thicker. Easy to swallow all the same.
Because of the Calcium content it can cause constipation in some people. For that reason I take only one per day with my morning decaf coffee. One is doing the trick. I also found adding Magnesium Citrate to my daily supplements remedied the slow train issue for me entirely.
Cannot comment on the cost as I couldn’t find this product anywhere but Amazon.

The product is a refill and was quickly delivered. As for the effectiveness of the medication, the jury is still out.

Works exactly as advertised. When taken with acidic foods it eliminates symptoms almost completely.
