I bought this for my son’s acne. We’ve tried everything and nothing was working. He had acne and skin irritation from everything we’ve tried. So, I bought him a sulfur soap, this sulfur ointment, and a sulfur mask. The sulfur definitely dries his face out, however, his acne is so much better. It’s not active anymore and the pimples are much smaller and a lot less. Once everything is gone, we’ll have to work on the acne scars. But, this was our last hope and it’s working. And, a lot less money than all the other products we have tried. I don’t think this ointment made his skin dry. I think it’s the sulfur soap, so now he alternates between a cleanser with salicylic acid and his sulfur soap. But, he uses this sulfur ointment every night on the active areas. Again, I’m amazed how well this has worked for him. He’s starting to get that smile back. 🙂

For it’s intended purposes, nothing has worked better for my acne, and I’ve tried a lot, I’d say about 90% better with just one stubborn patch left.
The unexpected purpose I’ve found has made this gold for me. For years I have been going to doctors about a time versicolor rash that just kept coming back, seemed to be spreading every time and every time the doctor would either give me a pill I couldn’t afford to fill or tell me to use selsum blue allover my body and leave it in for 10 minutes. Idk if you can imagine, but this is not a pleasant experience having minty smelly shampoo sitting on your wet body for 10 minutes every day for almost 10 years and still having the rash- until I decided to experiment.. This was working so good for my acne and smelled like maybe the active ingredient would work similar to the selsum. Now the doctors will tell you that it takes a month to 3 months for the staining of the rash to go away but that the shampoo is killing the yeast and it’s not there. This stuff worked to clear up my rash red marks and all in TWO WEEKS and it has not come back! Free for the first time in 10 years! It’s easier and makes much more sense than the shampoo bc it stays on your skin.
The smell isn’t too strong and it goes away pretty quick. It was drying at first, but not anymore. Overall, I’m very thankful I found this product.

This ointment clears a breakout fast… great value for the money since you receive two and only use as a spot treatment…it is drying as that’s eyits job is ..the smell is fine if you only use it sparingly…
