So many electrolyte mixes taste awful. This at least isn’t one of them. It reminds me a bit of a crystal lite concoction I had as a kid.
On the other hand, I’m not completely sure this one agrees with my stomach. At least it’s a mild disagreement! Maybe I’ll get used to it.

I love the soft taste of lemon, very easy to refresh after a workout. The creatine is a bit hard to mux just with a spoon, so I recommend using a shaker. Having all I need for a full post workout recovery in just one product is so convenient.

I don’t love the taste of this, but then again, I don’t usually love the taste of anything that’s artificially-sweetened, so that doesn’t come as a huge surprise. It tastes better when mixed in with a smoothie, so that’s the way I’ve been drinking it. It dissolves pretty well, and is a good way of replacing depleted electrolytes, which is what I wanted.

I originally ordered this electrolyte blend by Karma Nutrition as an alternative to another major brand that I had been using. Only after ordering did I learn that this particular blend contains creatine, which is not something I need or want in my personal mix. Athletes may, so it’s not something I would deduct a point for but it is worth being aware of if you are seeking something that is just a hydration mix.
First, let me say that the flavor is very good. In fact, it is much better tasting than my usual blend, and pretty closely reminds me of the yellow version of a well-known electrolyte drink originally from Florida, but perhaps a bit less heavy. Taste has been a driving factor in trying to find the hydration mix that I like best, and if it weren’t for the creatine, this one is definitely a winner. I also notice that the brand has many other drink mixes, and I’m pleased enough with this one that I’d consider trying some of the others.
The reasons for the one-star deduction have to do with the packaging and blending of the product itself. It comes in a bulk zipper-seal bag, which is great for home use that doesn’t require the waste of single-serve packets. However, the scoop that came with it does not have a little hole in the bottom (like infant formula scoops do) and that little hole plays a really important role in allowing the powder to be scooped up by letting air pass through. I never gave it much thought, but the first attempt at using this powder made the difference clear because the scoop trapped air beneath the powder, which then “caved” in as I lifted the scoop and created an eruption of powder and dust everywhere. The other issue I found with this is that the powder simply does not want to mix. It appears almost hydrophobic, refusing to blend or dissolve even with vigorous mixing and shaking. I’m not sure what to do about that, except maybe avoid the last few sips so I don’t get a mouthful of powder left at the bottom of the glass. Neither of these are deal-breakers, but certainly there is room for improvement.

This stuff is amazing! Great quality, great taste—no harsh or bad aftertaste in your mouth, mixes easily with a little battery powered hand mixer—or even a good old fashioned spoon. Love that it has creatine in it. Awesome value—I won’t stop buying!

I was worried a bit at first since it says it’s something of a pre/post workout. But it’s nothing like what I though. It just goes really well with hot weather and strenuous activity. It gets about 130 degrees in our kitchen at work, and being in there 7 hours a day is rough. So anything to help manage the water pouring out of us, is absolutely helpful. This definitely helped. Would recommend. Oh, but it is hard to actually get stirred into anything. Probably needs to be in a bottle to shake it, or it ironically seems hydrophobic.
