I purchased the unflavored and berry flavor bulk jars a few months ago. As other reviews note, the powder changes color and hardens to the point of being unable to properly scoop quantity needed within the week of opening. I’m still trying to break up the compound to use what’s left. I’m unsure I’d risk buying again to repackage it in something else just for it to turn stale within days. Packaging needs a redesign to seal out air properly. It should probably be in a resealable standing bag so at least if the inevitable happens it can be broken up by hand and easily removed from the package. Not possible now without cutting up the jar to remove. I don’t recommend trying to dig out the solid powder because you can damage the ‘harmless’ absorbent pack contaminating the mixture. One of the reasons I went for the bulk powder, over individual packets, was to reduce plastic waste and batch make smoothies for the week. With that said, it is an effective product for mood and suggest anyone considering first use, to see if it’s for you, to try the individual packets. I can still use the hard powder and get the same results though, the real issue is I wanted it to seamlessly become a daily product which is a questionable concern to me for a company to not do quality control on a product sold to affect mood. Like, no one on the Recess team took this jar home to try before launching roll out? My mood having to sort this faulty concept out is counter productive to the product’s purpose.

Clumped together. Impossible to scoop. Used a spoon to battle it out. Doesn’t dissolve well, leaves a gritty texture like sand in your drink. I waa not calm.

I love the idea of a powder form of Magnesium L-Threonate as I struggle to swallow the large pills I’ve ordered for this version of mag previously. Unfortunately, both jars I’ve purchased have clumped horribly after the first couple of uses. I purposely tightened the lid better with the second jar, thinking I might’ve failed to do so the first time. Nope, whatever dessicant they include just doesn’t do the job. I won’t be repurchasing until I see evidence they have resolved this issue. Also – is sweetener really necessary in this?

I do love other Recess products, but I only used this product a few times before it completely hardened and was unusable. I emailed customer service about this but and they responded saying they would connect with me to issue a refund but have not heard back since then.
As for flavor (I got unflavored), in plain water it tasted disgusting to me but when mixed into other drinks it is not really detectable. I kept product in a cool dry cabinet so I’m not sure why it hardened or what else to do to prevent this in the future.

I ordered this not too long ago, just over a month. I finally opened it last week. The powder was not powder, it was hard as a rock. I tried to break it up with a spoon, several knives, banging it on the counter, my husband tried with multiple tools. I got 2 chunks, so I added those 2 chunks to my shakes. They don’t really have a taste to them and I wish this were a good product bc it has wonderful ingredients and would be incredibly useful to me.
I know you are thinking I got it wet or something, but no, it was never exposed to liquid. My cousin gave me her container bc she only had a little left and wanted me to try it, I liked it, which was why I ordered. No, I didn’t open it right away bc I still had some left from what she gave me, but that doesn’t matter. I should be able to open and use it whenever I want. I stored it in the same DRY cabinet that I store all of my other supplements in, and I’ve had no problems with the others.. When it arrived nothing was wrong with the box or the container. When I took the lid off, the seal was in tact and I peeled that back, it was dry and hard as a rock. I’m actually in shock at how HARD it is. 😳 I guess I won’t be ordering this again which totally sucks bc it is tasteless, has great ingredients, is convenient, a great price and there’s no other product out there like this that I have been able to find. I suggest if you order this, open immediately to be sure that it is even any good. Since I just opened it, I’m screwed out of my money bc it is too late for me to return or exchange. If this problem can be rectified, I’m happy to change my review and change it to 5 stars if I can return or exchange this defective product for a new, normal, one.

I purchased this powder for my son. When it arrived it was rock solid. It was supposed to be powdered to add to drinks. There was no possible way I could use this product. I broke it up and there was a spoon and a moisture packet encased in the product so clearly there is an issue with shipping. I tried to give them another try and reported that I would like a replacement. The second container arrived and it was SOLID AGAIN. Twice I’ve waited for the package and TWICE it arrived unable to use the product. Do NOT buy this product. You can’t even use it. Wasted money.

I’ve been ordering these for about a year, maybe. They have always had a ridiculous texture, but I’ve usually at least been able to chip out the amount I need with a fork. The latest one I got though is absolutely hard as a rock and even with my sharpest knife (which is not safe to use this way) I can only get 1/4 of a serving out. The desiccant bag is locked in the rock, sticking out. I cannot believe they haven’t fixed this yet. Their price has actually RISEN since I bought this a week ago! Thirty bucks for this? Are you serious? I am finding another brand that actually has quality control and listens to customers. If you think you’ll get lucky and get something you can actually get out of the plastic container, trust me, you will not.
