The taste is nutty and also makes whatever the liquid to mix with become creamier. Took a while to get used to the taste. This huge back will last for quite some time with roughly 5000mg per day. Also purchased the red maca root powder from AlementzDepot. I honest could not differentiate the taste between the red maca and black maca. Both are equally good.

The maca powder has an odd, but interesting flavor. The black maca powder has been described as bittersweet, nutty, and some have said it is like butterscotch. That last – maybe. It’s less prominent than the bittersweet nutty part of the flavor.
About a teaspoon in a cup of coffee makes a good drink. Of course it can be blended into smoothies or just about any drink you care to experiment with.

Another name for the maca is Peruvian ginseng. Maca seems to have just about all the health benefits claimed for ginseng.

I recently tried this black maca root poweder and have mixed feelings about it. On the positive side, I was pleased with the freshness of the product, and it definitely seemed like good value for money. However, I couldn’t ignore the major downside – the flavor was simply terrible. It was a struggle to incorporate it into my daily routine due to the unpalatable taste. Additionally, while I had hoped for an energy boost, I didn’t notice any discernible benefits in that department. Overall, it’s a mixed bag – fresh and budget-friendly, but the unpleasant taste and lack of energy-boosting effects left me somewhat underwhelmed.
A Creative Life –
The “AlementzDepot Organic Black Maca Root Powder” comes in sturdy pouch with a recloseable top. I like that it is pure and organic and does not contain unnecessary ingredients. No additives or sugar, dairy, gluten, soy, yeast etc. It comes as a tannish/peach fine powder. I find it difficult to describe the taste but it’s not bad … kind of nutty or buttery. I prefer all natural products, especially those can be used in teas and this fits well with that. It needs to be stored in a cool, dry place so I can keep it handy with all my natural ingredients. Best by date on my product is over a year away (9/1/2024). I find it difficult to rate supplements as only time will tell, and it’s very difficult to know if the product is the only factor in any changes that may be noted. I am giving it a 4 because I like what I can see about the product.

Using my food scale and factoring in the weight of my measuring spoon, I estimated that one teaspoon equates to roughly 3000 milligrams. However, it’s important to remember that this estimation could vary based on the density of the powder received and the weight of your measuring spoon.

First time taking Maca powder. Was worried it will taste weird and nasty but it’s not. It actually taste good with warm water.
Took it two days did not feel anything. But on the fourth day I do realize I have little more energy.
