I just got this form of zinc after another popular brand of zinc started to give me some gastric distress. The trick with this product is being able to weight out the right amount. Many people are disappointed that BulkSupplements do not indicate a measurement on this, and odds are you’re not going to find one for the recommended dosage. However, a milligram scale is worth having in your arsenal if you’re using some of these supplements on a regular basis.
That said, I’m aiming for a 50 mg dosage of zinc for myself. The 1/16 tsp I have (level) measured out at 250mg total weight, which should be approximately 37.5 mg of zinc. A slightly heaping 1/16 is what I’m working with at the moment. Caveat emptor with this advice!!

I love BulkSupplements and I love this zinc. Having supplements in powder form gives me the ability to easily adjust my dose to get just what I need. I’ve been using this about a week and I have not experienced any side effects from this zinc, no matter when I take it.
This product, like most Bulk products I’ve used, goes a long way. This is a pure powder, so an individual dose is pretty tiny and scales really are helpful. For price, I haven’t seen a better deal anywhere on zinc orotate – the package I got had 1000 servings and I paid less than $15. With this company I don’t have to scrutinize all the fine print to see if it contains stearates or gluten or space debris. I wanted zinc and that’s all that’s in the package.

I prefer my supplements in powdered format and I’m happy with this product. You’ll need to know how much to take, a scale capable of weighing out your dosage, and when to take it.

It would be nice if Bulk Supplements would give dosing suggestions for how much of a teaspoon it takes to get a serving size (just like Bulk Supplements does for their magnesium orotate and histidine base products). I find this product is good for boosting immunity, treating skin inflammation, and helping to suppress tics (I have Tourette Syndrome).

Zinc Orotate is the best type of zinc for absorption. Zinc and selenium are the two minerals that I need for my immune system in every part of my body. Dealing with winter colds and sinus infections is not fun, so this year I am front loading my body with lots of zinc orotate. I mix several doses (a week’s worth) in a bottle with distilled water, leave it my frig, and then take a shot twice a day. This makes it so easy to get the zinc orotate in and not have to swallow so many pills. It’s also a great way to get zinc orotate into kids!! So far so good – no colds!!

So far, so good. I would like to address some of the comments regarding serving size. Zinc can cause harm when taken in consistently high doses. I am actually taking half of the suggested dose on this package. To help you understand how much a suggested dose in in measurements THIS supplement is approx .12 of an ml. Thats a twelvth of a milliliter. Thats is impossible to measure using a spoon. I liken the amount to what will stick to your fingertip when you lick your finger and put it in the powder (don’t do it. You will contaminate the powder.) Get a scale! Amazon sells mg scales for under $10. Its worth it to get this supreme form of zinc.
Also, weight doesn’t always translate to volume. This is based on weight. I did the math conversion (1/2 c (amount in package) = 1000 servings so 1/2c ÷ 1000 = .12mls). There are other powdered supplements that weigh more or less per volume so it is impossible to convert mgs to tsp unless you know the rest of the info.
Bottom line, good supplement, be careful, measure it in a scale.
