I made my own healthy non-dairy coffee creamer in just a few minutes! I wanted to keep it simple so I chose Almond Cow Organic Coconut Shreds which are very fine and just great for this recipe. They blended so well with filtered water in my Vitamix that I didn’t even strain the creamer but left everything in for the nutrient content. This time I added a little Kirkland Signature Organic Maple Syrup, a little SummerDay naturals pure natural Vanilla Bean Powder, a pinch of sea salt, a little Kirkland Signature Organic Virgin Coconut Oil and a little microingredients Organic Sunflower Lecithin (As an emulsifier, it blended in quickly and provided a nice smooth creamer.). (I’m not affiliated with any of these products but just thought I’d give what worked great for me.) The creamer turned out perfect in taste and consistency without anything artificial. I’m looking forward to making this again soon and also some with various wonderful warming spices!

I purchased this to add to my morning smoothie. I researched this before purchasing and found sunflower lecithin is a popular supplement that is believed to offer several health benefits. It is a type of phospholipid that is extracted from sunflower seeds and used as a food additive. It is often used as an emulsifier in foods like margarine and chocolate, and it is also available in supplement form. Sunflower lecithin supplements are believed to help improve heart health, reduce inflammation, improve brain function, and support healthy liver function.
I cose this one as it was organic and cold pressed.

It’s fresh and tastes decent. I’m not sure on effectness yet. However, I’ve had other lecithin before and noticed it distributed my weight more evenly.

My first day to try. The product/powder seemed a little sticky, had to use a long spoon to find the scoop which was packed full of the product/powder. I used a chopstick to get the product/powder out of the scoop and into my cup. filled cup with hot water from hot water dispenser, added instant coffee (what I always use), stirred and drank. No grit no residue. Mild nut-cream taste. Rich, i really liked it. In addition, I felt a comforting difference, maybe it was the rich cream taste and feel since I usually drink coffee black, or maybe I have a choline deficiency so i was able to feel that the product is already working. Added note: there were a few small lumps (for lack of better word) in the bottom of the cup but not grit, I added a bit of hot water, stirred and drank down.

Tastes and smells exactly as expected. Some of the reviews nearly turned me away, but I circled back to this as I have really only have had good experiences with this brand. Seems totally fine. Have you ever had sunflower lecithin? It doesnt taste or smell like sunflower anything. If you are at all familiar with liquid sunflower lecithin, then know that this tastes and smells like a powdered version. It has that creamy mouthfeel and ever so slightly nutty taste, yet doesnt really taste like anything. Maybe I will try another brand to see how they compare, and add my findings here.
I use it for its health benefits. I had begun incorporating sunflower based products into my life, but it was with sunflower lecithin that I realized I would get the best bang for my nutritional buck with the lecithin. It can also be used in food and drink applications. It can help keep fats and oils mixed together, keeps them from separating. Adds a creamy mouthfeel to coffee and other like beverages and foods. Can be useful in DIY beauty products too.

There’s a science in it. I don’t know what it is, but I know it’s easy to research, but if you are baking bread at home, find a recipe that has Sunflower Lecithin in it–seriously, it is a game changer! This has been my favorite brand I’ve tried off of Amazon. For the quality and the price it is perfect for my needs. We bake about 2 loaves a week and it lasts us for more than half of the year.
