My first experience trying this was alarming. The least of which was I had to really dig down deep to find the scoop and got product all over my hand (and eventually shirt). So for those that say there is no scoop, try REALLY digging around!
I used the same amount of oat milk I use with the Whey Protein Powder and ended up with thick sludge stuck like denser than peanut butter. Yikes! So I added more liquid and it was fine but you end up having to drink more overall liquid for the same amount of protein as Whey.
Then I forgot I bought unflavored. I almost threw up. It was like drinking cardboard blended with tofu. Definitely will need some flavoring liquid/powder or a half cup at least of berries to blend with this stuff, or get vanillar flavored oat milk, or SOMETHING. Definitely will try a flavored version next time. You’d be nuts to drink this stuff straight. Gross.
A little background on why I bought this product:
I’ve been using Milk Protein Powders occasionally (just in the 24 hours after resistance/weight training) to make sure I had adequate protein intake. I preferred the Phase 8 brand as it was slow release, their flavors were delicious, and the powder blended very easily even with a small amount of water or oat milk.
Recently being diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, I discovered in my research that studies show Caseinate (a product in Milk Protein Powders) can be pro cancer, but go figure, other studies show Whey Protein can be protective. Unfortunately the Phase 8 brand has more Caseinate than other Whey Protein brands as they add it specifically as an additional ingredient. Furthermore, studies have shown Soy Isoflavones can be protective against cancer.
So I decided to switch to Soy even though Whey has been shown to promote muscle growth a bit better. (Best is to eat clean, low-fat protein sources — but for post-workout that’s a lot of food so a protein powder helps you get there without having to pig out on chicken.

Love the product and best tasting protein I have found.

Horrible consistency and flavor. Dumped it in the trash.

I am a daily protein drink consumer and have tried many brands. A few years ago a food panel test showed I have a low tolerance for whey which is used in a lot of protein powders, so that somewhat limited my options. I also prefer protein mixes that have fewer ingredients and low on sugar which also limits the options. In general I found the soy based protein powders without whey to be the best option, although they are more costly than the whey based products.
Of the three I have tried this one is my favorite. I was a little apprehensive with it being a natural flavor as I normally prefer chocolate or vanilla flavors, but it ends up being a very subtle flavor with no bad aftertaste. I mix it with soy milk and if I want some flavor I add a little chocolate or vanilla soy. But honestly it’s not too bad with just plain soy milk. I use a shaker cup with a spring mixing ball and it mixes real well leaving minimal suspended particles. It has minimal ingredients which I like as well.
If you are looking for a plant based protein and have no issues with soy I would recommend giving it a try. Compared to the others I have tried this one has the best overall value without sacrificing quality. It will be my new go to powder for some time until I am ready to try something new.

Tastes kind of, well, chalky. And it doesn’t dissolve easily — lumps left when stirred by hand, and stick to sides of the blender. It’s not awful but I won’t be buying again.

Meant to order vanilla, sorry, it is my fault. Patty
