I’ve bought glycine many times before and this time I bought the largest size possible and I will not do that again. If you read it has a horrible smell that is right and I dumped it into another container to check if it was the glycine or the container. Sure it was the glycine and it might have had a slight yellowish tint to it.
I dumped it in the driveway. Disgusting you won’t want to eat it.

About Face –
It has a sweet taste to it:
Glycine has a chemical structure very similar to sugar, except it has nitrogen. According to WebMd, it is the simplest amino acid for protein, aiding in cellular growth and health.
I add the powder to the water and it seems to help, with no side effects for me being that I am sensitive to certain things like plain sugary products. So this seems to be the alternative.
I bought it to help with recovery after working out.
The reason I gave it 4 star is the box came without the measuring spoon and it was depressed, as soon as I opened it the seal popped, so I’m not sure if someone opened the seal and tried to reseal it.

Glycine is great for speeding up natural healing and taking away the pain of sore muscles. It’s sweet, so I add a tsp into my morning cup of tea. It’s the best supplement I have taken for relief of muscle pain due to exercising or over doing it. It’s not a pain medicine, it aids in healing and is naturally anti-inflammatory.

I like the product but I’m displeased that it was shipped in a broken bag. Fortunately it was in a secondary plastic bag and I only lost a couple of grams.

This is not sugar, but it is sweet. It also does not mix super well without a blender and tends to settle on the bottom. 5-10g mixed with 8-16g of inositol is way better for you in your morning beverage than the same amount of sugar. It DOES have its own taste, but unlike sugar substitutes this is actually a net positive, rather than “probably likely not bad for ya.”
If you don’t eat much skin/organ meat or gelatinized bones/broth, then this helps balance the rather large amount of methionine you’d ingest from just muscle meat.

Works amazing for my sleeping schedule and fall asleep pretty quickly. This is also after detoxing as well. It’s also amazing for post workouts for me personally

It is normal for glycine to be sweet. The name Glycine comes from the Greek word γλυκύς meaning “sweet tasting”. This product is as sweet as any of the other Glycine products I have tasted and has been consistently cheaper over the past year. I use it along with inulin to sweeten things. I find also use a little to sweeten tea. (Note that most proteinogenic amino acids don’t decompose until 185 degrees c or more. I seem to recall that Glycine doesn’t until 240 C)
Humans can synthesize Glycine from serine, so it is not considered an essential amino acid but there are studies that seem to show that older adults may benefit from glycine supplementation.
Note that all of the bags I have received for the last year clearly state that 1/4 tsp is about 1.16 grams. I do pour contents from the bag into a glass jar for storage once I open it.
