l-Arginine (L-arg) is an amino acid precursor to nitric oxide (NO). Dietary supplements containing L-arg increase vasodilation, thereby elevating blood flow to the exercising muscle and enhancing the metabolic response to exercise. L-arginine works by using converting your body’s fat reserves into energy. Your body’s fat reserves are consumed to produce energy, and also aid muscle mass formation and development. L-arginine also increases your resting metabolic rate, allowing it to burn more calories. Aditionally, while some studies have found that L-arginine may offer mild sexual health benefits, others have found that L-arginine isn’t any more effective than a placebo.
The flavor of this formula isn’t bad and synthetic tasting like some other pre-workout formulas have. It mixes relatively easy in a regular shaker bottle. The energy boost is quite noticeable, although the pump action is mild from what I can tell. At $50 per 30 servings it is a bit pricey but it does state it is made in US.

I wake up at 5:30 5 days a week and make myself a a drink of this. For working out I only take one scoop max about 20-30 mins before I start. No negative symptoms but a nice energy boost that will keep you going longer than usual. On days where I don’t really feel like working out, this gets me off my butt. The nice thing is it has a slow come down versus crash and burn.
Outside of the gym: Probably the most surprising part for me. I noticed that after workouts my head was especially clear so I started using this versus my coffee in the morning at work with half a scoop. Its less caffeine but it feels like way more energy and my head feels like I slept an extra 2hrs. I can focus better and it feels like I’m firing on all cylinders.

This is so sweet that I can only handle a half of a scoop in a large glass of water (so about 1 teaspoon or less). Even with less than the suggested serving size of 8.6 grams, I do think it gives a little boost while working out. I just wish it didn’t have so much stevia in it. The full list of ingredients is: Glycine, L-Arginine, CitraPeak® Glucosyl-Hesperidi (from modified Citrus aurantium and Citrus sinensis Fruit Extracts), Monoglucosyl Hesperidin, elevATP® (Ancient Peat Extract and Malic Acid, Natural Flavor, Silicon Dioxide, Organic Glucosyl Steviosides (from Organic Stevia rebaudiana Leat).

This preworkout powder has great quality ingredients, but I personally haven’t found it to be very effective.
The formulation:
4g glycine
2g arginine.
200mg Citrapeak citrus extract,
150mg elevATP
The arginine and Citrapeak are doing the heavy lifting. Glycine doesn’t really belong in a preworkout in my opinion, and I’ve never felt any effects from elevATP in the past.
I don’t really get any energy from this, but I do get a nice pump from the arginine. I personally would find one with more exciting ingredients like anthocyanins or something with more of a caffeine-like effect.

I am someone who relies heavily on supplements in my daily life and especially before and after a session at the gym.
One thing I cannot do without is a pre-workout supplement.
It’s really difficult to get through my workout without one and I have tried so many over the years.
I have yet to find the one that is superior to the rest but I continue to look.
So when I came across this listing, I liked the list of ingredients and everything that it promised so I went ahead and place an order for it.
After it arrived, I used it right away.
My first reaction was that the taste was pretty bad.
It had a very strong chemical taste, and not at all what I hope it would be.
But still, a lot of them don’t taste great, and as long as they work well I am pleased, but this one did not give me much energy at all.
There is really no boost whatsoever and it almost felt like I didn’t take a protein pre-workout at all.
It mixed pretty well in the glass of water, but it did leave a bit of residue on the bottom. But nothing a little more water switched around in the glass couldn’t solve.
But unfortunately, I do not highly recommend this.
At least for me, the results were not there.
However, I have taken so many pre-workouts that it is possible my body is becoming immune to them. so this review is based solely on what it did to me.
The only reason I’m giving a three stars is because of the list of quality ingredients.
I feel that for the high price point there are other pre-workout supplements that do the job better.
I hope my review helps you to make a more well informed decision.

The combination of glycine and arginine creates an entourage effect that increases work capacity for getting work done. Mixes well and the taste is like berries. Recommended.

Arrived with the safety seal under the lid half-open and powder caked under the lid and in the threads. I don’t trust powders with “faulty” seals; I encounter them too often as a supplement reviewer, and if I took my chances on every one, eventually I might regret it. So I threw it in the trash instead.

This is an interesting pre workout as it has so few ingredients in it. I have used the main the ingredients, glycine and l-arginine, separately but never together before this supplement. With glycine I have actually used it to help fall asleep so seeing it in a pre workout surprised me. L-arginine I have used in the past before workouts as a pump enhancer and it does work well. With this endurance powder I feel like I have a calm focus but also a pretty good boost in energy that does not feel jittery. For a workout it feels like it does enhance the pump and provides for a good workout.
The powder mixes well in water without any texture or sediment left behind. The flavor is lighter than I would have imagined for the name of berry blast. It is almost kind of creamy tasting but a semi-sweet fruit. It reminds me a bit of a fruit yogurt parfait.
