I did see a lot of reviews mentioning the packaging problems. I’m okay living with that if I can continue to get a good value on the product itself. Since I was aware of these problems, I immediately poured the contents into a glass container with a lid & scoop it out from there. I have had no problem with this method. The powder is very fine. It is supposed to be.
I blend it in a smoothie with 4 oz. of plain kefir, 4 oz. of unsweetened vanilla almond milk, organic frozen berries and either fish oil or flax seed oil. Can’t taste it at all & neither can my husband.
I can’t really tell yet if I’ve noticed the health benefits. I’ve read you need consistent use for 2 months before you might realize the benefits. We’ve been trying to eat clean in general. It really makes a difference in so many areas of your health. I will continue to give this product a try and update my review if I later notice specific health benefits. It just hasn’t been long enough to say yet.
UPDATE: I was going to reorder this product, but the price went up by about $10. That is too much. Unfortunately, I won’t be ordering again at this time. I’m disappointed.

Fantastic product! I now have added the marine collagen to the Aspen Naturals pork and Beef collagen. There is no fish taste or smell and this collagen, when bloomed, does not thicken as much as the others so there is no need to add hot water to dissolve, which makes it great for adding to protein shakes. As an executive chef who is 48 I spend very long days on my feet. I also walk to work (three miles round trip). I started having hip and joint pain but between adding collagen to my daily routine it is almost totally gone. (I also walk with a 35lb weighted back pack). Additionally I have moderate to severe psoriasis. Since starting collagen suplimentation, without any medication I have notice significant improvement in my patches and zero new spots. Overall skin improvements are also starting to show as well. I can’t say enough positive things about this company or its products!

This seems to be high in quality and I have been adding it to my morning coffee. It is tasteless and therefore does not affect the coffee’s flavor. At this point I have only been using it for about 10 days. I bought it in hopes of keeping my skin younger looking. Of course, an outcome like that is something that is very hard to evaluate. Certainly, daily ingestion of this collagen would need to occur over a period of time for me to be able to ascertain if it works for that purpose or not. However, this protein is still good and nutritious for my body, regardless of how it affects my skin. I have been reading that collagen is hard to get in a regular diet and the many benefits of collagen to health in the body. I will come back and add to this review at a later time if I find that it is working for my skin.
I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for marine collagen. The only reason I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it is a little hard to dissolve. Hot liquids will dissolve it with brisk stirring, which is why coffee is the perfect drink for this collagen. You can also dissolve it readily in simmering soups and stews. Cold liquids present a bit of a problem. If you try to stir it into milk or lemonade it clumps somewhat. However, I have added it to smoothies that I puree in the blender with no problem at all. So whether you are satisfied with this product will depend upon what you want to mix with it. I plan to buy this again when I run out.
It is a bit pricey but I could not find any other brand of this quality for less anywhere.
UPDATE 5/10/2017: I was going to re-order this but the price has DOUBLED since I order it in March. What?! Same stuff, twice the price. No thanks. I’ll see what else I can find.

I did not rate on the pain area because I only started taking this powder this morning. I mixed it in my hot coffee with added creamer, one shot of mocha syrup, and a dash of cinnamon. At first I saw clumps then they started to dissipate as the time went by. It does alter the taste of my coffee just a little bit but, certainly worth it if you don’t have to swallow a whole bunch of pills. Also, I opted for this brand because I’m a pescatarian and don’t want any animal products in my food or anything that I use. I’m a strong advocate for furry animals.

I personally RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT !!!, .. I started with “Bovine Collagen Peptides”, I choosed the best in it’s class, it had a a very low price compared with Aspen, very good product, good price and benefits, BUT it’s taste was A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE !!!, it’s bovine skin taste couldn’t be covered with anything at all, THIS PRODUCT “Marine Collagen Peptides from ASPEN” It doesn’t have any taste at all, and mix very well in hot liquids (you better shake it to mix it well), I have mixed in hot milk, water and chocolate, and It mix very well ! I have 2 months taking it and I have seen that skin from my face is softer that before. It’s not an inexpensive product but its reliable to achive better skin health. I will buy again the same product.

I have noticed that I have less hairfall in the first two weeks since I have been on this product which is why I purchased it originally. Also, since I an 50, I am taking it to prevent facial wrinkles and improve nail strength. I love this product because I am able to take it in a smoothie or with my flax meal in water. It is virtually tasteless, and mixes quite well, only slightly lumpy if just stirring it by hand in water. It incorporates well with other powders like wheatgrass, flax, protein powder etc. I love this stuff and I know it is the best form of collagen on the market! Thanks for making this Aspen!
