Not new to mushroom coffees, but it’s been difficult to find one that doesn’t taste like a mouthful of dirt. I purchased the one with 35mg of caffeine, which isn’t listed here anymore. The other ingredients are basically the same, except for the raw Peruvian cacao which is an ingredient in the one I bought. This is the first time I ordered this brand from Amazon, previously I purchased from their web site.
First, this is ground so finely that it mixes better than other brands that I had been using. I add a half tablespoon to 8oz of decaf once a day. You don’t have to use creamer or coffee bombs-I add them as a treat when I want something a little sweeter. On its own, it has a mild flavor, and it’s not sweet even though there is monk fruit extract in it-I can drink it without creamer and butter and I have, even though I don’t really taste the monk fruit.
The ingredients list is very simple. It’s just mushrooms and adaptogens and in measurements that are reasonably believable. If there’s one thing I have learned is that “more ingredients” doesn’t always mean better.
I can’t attest to the claims about mood, focus, energy and clarity. However, I can say that it doesn’t spike my anxiety and stress levels like regular coffee does. Maybe that’s because I only take 1/2 tbsp instead of the full tbsp as recommended per cup of decaf, so I’m only getting 17.5 grams of caffeine.
The only think I do not like about this is the price for what you get. One bag lasts me about 2 months because I half the serving size so it doesn’t overpower the taste of my coffee.
Pros: it’s not terrible, mixes well in any beverage and has a nice flavor. Con: Price.

I have decided to try it….if I start Cordyceps pandemic…please remember and forgive me…
Taste: powder itself (yes, I’ve tried powder “raw”, unmixed) is slightly bitter.
When it comes to mixing it with liquid, instead of coffee, I’ve attempted to mix it with cold milk….
Definitely mix it with warmer beverage unless you wanna keep on stirring….
When mixed in, bitterness disappeared.
It is slightly sweet (from monk fruit) and vanilla-y.
Not bad.
Does it work as advertised? Time will tell.
At the moment I’m giving it three stars due to poor dissolve rate in cold beverage.
If I notice improvement in focus, energy and sleep quality….I’ll increase the rating.

I’ve tried various mushroom supplements from drink mixes to additives to pills and the one that I tend to like the best is the pills as I don’t have to taste them. My first experience with mushroom supplements is with a powdered drink mix and I found it hard to stomach the flavor of it. It wasn’t entirely awful, but it was far from enjoyable (certainly an acquired taste). Rarely do I find mixes and additives that taste decent enough to be tolerable or maybe better. I saw this mix, which was intended to add to coffee, so I was intrigued how that would actually turn out.
The mix is a cream colored powder and comes in a foil liked and resealable bag/pouch. I wasn’t aware when I ordered it, but looking at the ingredients on the back and there is more than just a mix of mushrooms here, but also the addition of coconut milk powder and monk fruit extract for added flavor and sweetness. The aroma straight out of the bag is a more creamy and sweet than I had expected and I wondered if this would be more like a sweetened creamer for my coffee.
Per directions, I brewed up a fresh cup of coffee and added a tbsp of powdered mix to it and stirred. My first impression was that I messed something up because it was all curdled and clumpy looking. I thought that maybe it meant cold coffee and not hot coffee, but reading the package again, it did not specify temperature and most people have hot coffee, so I kept stirring. Eventually, the bulk of it dissolved into my coffee, but there remained some smaller chunks. It did change the aroma of the coffee slightly, having it smell a little like the raw mix (slightly creamier and sweeter). The flavor, however, was another matter. I wouldn’t say it made the coffee better, but I was curious on the flavors I was getting out of it because it certainly did change my normal cup of Joe. The mix seemed to bring out some of the chocolate flavors in the coffee itself and I think the coconut and monk fruit helped add a level of creaminess and depth to some of the coffee notes that were not as predominant as before. The mushrooms certainly imparted their own presence on the coffee. They brought an interesting earthy and musky body to the coffee that in some ways worked and in other ways didn’t.
I am a bit undecided on this coffee adder. It did things to my coffee that I liked, but it also imparted flavors that I can’t say I was all that fond of. It wasn’t terrible, but I’m not sure it elevated my coffee to the next level of enjoyment, but rather just made it more weird and alien. I do like all of the great ingredients that mushrooms provide and the health benefits that go along with them, but I’m not sure they belong in my coffee (at least flavor wise). I think I will try this mix in a shake to see how it does there. I have hopes that I will find the right balance for this healthy mix of mushroom goodness, but I’m not sold on coffee being the perfect pairing.
