I tried this brand after my usual product became unavailable. Unfortunately, it had a bitter taste that made it impossible for me to use. I threw it away. It does have a much deeper red color and not quite as powdery compared to the previous product I used. Oh well, I’ll keep looking.

I have been taking 3/8 of a teaspoon daily for more than a year. Although my serum blood levels are already low due to eating low on the food chain, this practice further lowered my LDL’s 10 points. Any scientist will tell you that this is anecdotal—based on a single personal observation—and is not proof that it will give the same result for you. Nonetheless, Red Yeast Rice is widely acknowledged, even by allopathic medicine, for its effect of lowering cholesterol.
UPDATE – 04/01 16:59:20.
I received an email from company representative, Collin. He assured me that their red yeast rice is citrinin free. Both of the suppliers for this product are U.S. based, with internal quality controls, and they also send it out for third-party testing. All of this occurs after it is screened for heavy metals during importation through customs. Based on these official statements from the Prescribed for Life Company, I feel confident that this product is free of toxins.
The established purity, coupled with an advertised standard content of .04% of Monacolin K, makes this product a strong choice in a field of uncertain competitors. Research has found considerable variations in the monacolin levels of various brands.

My husband had an allergic reaction to this product. We’ve used this product from a different brand before with no issues so we know that they are processing this at a facility where nuts are present. We will be reporting this product to the FDA. They have refused to give us a refund. PLEASE BE CAREFUL!
The color seems a little off from the last batch but there is no reason for me to believe it is a bad batch
I’ve just started adding this supplement to my daily regimen for cholesterol support. It’s very easy to add this to hot water and drink as a tea or drink in a smoothie every day. The taste is mild so it can blend in with lots of different juices or drinks. I’m taking about a quarter teaspoon per day. It’s a good value for the money when compared to taking the tablets.
Garbage, do not buy, is not what it states
I switched to this brand when my usual brand was out of stock. This seems equally potent, but the red color is quite saturated. Be prepared for the powder to completely redden whatever you blend it with. I used to add to my OJ, which is tasty, but it totally turns my OJ deep red. So I save this for my berry flavored smoothies or electrolyte beverages instead. It has almost no flavor, quite mild. I use to help support healthy cholesterol levels. I’ll have to report back after my next tests to see if I’m getting results.
