While this is probably the most expensive pill source of B12….it worked to raise my blood B12 level from under 200 to over 1,000 in less than 6 weeks. I felt immediate benefits and was surprised. This particular pill is very small, tastes good…if a little sweet…and dissolves quickly. My research and experience leads me to believe that taking this form of B12 is just as effective for me as taking expensive B12 shots. I have tried an alternative, mid-priced form (methylcobalamin) and did not like the way they felt in my mouth…kind of grainy, very slow dissolving.

Tried several brands; (I like Jarrow for their excellent nac, ala and acetyl L-carnetine but their B12 lozenge did squat). This B12 dissolves readily and I feel better for it, with 2 a day. Love it, but its not cheap but it works. B12 needed by healthy older people and for illness is very important. … If you need B12 for ongoing health condition or illness, be sure to also read about chelated magnesium, some potassium chelate with that, vitamin D, B-complex, a good folate, N acetyl cysteine for detox & glutathione production, and acetyl L-carnitine which greatly helps cellular energy production and cognitive chemistry. Work with an integrative or functional medical doctor (combines conventional with some “alternative” like understanding nutritional and endocrine biochemistry, internal medicine (body as a system), and chronic physical conditions by handling symptoms AND root causes (not just naming symptoms plus synthetic drugs to address symptoms… even if politically unpopular. Anything by Dr.Sherry Rogers is a good reference, don’t mind her wild book titles designed to catch attention; her research references and clinical experience is solid.

These are a little fatter than what I am use to taking. I have MTHFR so I use them daily to supplement the methylfolate I take. I needed a non methy version and a non cobalamin version and this product fits the bill.

My husband and I have MTHFR mutations and he is heterozygous for COMT, while I am homozygous for COMT. This means we do not tolerate methylated products well. This product is hydroxycobalamin, and is therefore well tolerated by most people. 2000 mcg is not likely to be problematic for the majority of people, and is a good start to getting in a form of B12 for those with MTHFR mutations, particularly if COMT mutations are also present. If you don’t understand the aconyms, you may want to have genetic testing done through 23andme and look at snpedia for explanations of the results. Doing so will enable you to take control of your health and stop issues such as fibromyalgia, IBS and chronic fatigue syndrome that are often caused by MTHFR mutations and other related snp’s such as COMT and CBS.

This unit is pretty much a game changer. YES it works on my cine primes just fine. I’m kind of off struck that for the price you get something this good. It’s well worth it and it’s easy to use.

This is probably the form of B12 that is the most pleasant to take.
There are 4 types of B12:
cyano, methyl, adenosyl and hydroxo
The rarest in tablet form is hydroxo-B12 (although it is probably the most common in the body?).
2mg is a fairly decent dose for B12… although you can get 5 mg in the methyl form.
B12 is good for energy… so if you need to fire up the metabolism this is a useful vitamin to take.
If you want to know more about B12 Pacholok’s book
“Could it be B12”
is a good read… although she does not clearly differentiate between the different forms.
B12 is an antidote for cyanide poisoning (it removes cyanide from the body)…
and presumably it helps detoxify the body when you get too much of it in the diet.
Thus it is surprising to find that every cheap B12 is the cyanide form (already loaded with cyanide).
Thus it will not remove cyanide from the body… and in fact adds it.
Does cyano-B12 (the B12 in most multi-vitamins) make you feel unwell?
Does your hair start to fall out?
The cyano form affects at least some of us unpleasantly.
Why are we low in B12?
As you get older your stomach acid commonly drops… which results in low B12 levels.
Certain medications like laughing gas can result in low B12 levels too (wonder why your dentist doesn’t mention this as a side-effect?).
A surprising number of people are deficient in this vitamin:
It is a possible cause of psychosis and chronic fatigue like symptoms.
This is a quick pick-me-up in a bottle… and a simple way to check if you’re a bit low.
If only this B12 wasn’t so expensive.
A lot of authors insist B12 is not available in the hydroxo form so I had to try it:
It’s a nice experience.
Save them for a rainy day?
🙂

I had a genetic test and found that I need the hydro form of B12. Sure I could use this in drops and maybe some day I might, but it is so much easier to slip one of these tasty tablets in my mouth and dissolve. I am feeling so much better since making a few changes in my supplements.
