Who ever thought this should be called ‘Dark Rum’ has never sipped dark rum. Nothing dank or molassesy about this— I’d hoped that the leather and patchouli would bring some amount of depth to this fragrance. There’s not even a tropical vibe. All I detect is dryer sheets. Save your $$ and buy a box of Bounce. Shame because I have some other products from this brand and I enjoy their fragrances tremendously.
ETA: My husband loved the freshness of this scent on me, so I will give this several more tries. The next morning I caught a whiff and it still smelled of dryer sheets, but with lots of creamy sweetness on top. Will revisit this fragrance several more times with an open mind. Apparently the name references BAY RUM, not the liquor… which makes a bit more sense.
Second ETA: This fragrance has grown on me in the most surprising way. Perhaps it needed the warmth of summer to be fully appreciated? I love it on a hot day with Irish Spring soap, and a light coconut body lotion. I WAS WRONG! This perfume is a delight.

I carry with my in my bag everywhere I go, one of my fav scents and recently bought the Leather scent. Definitely recommend especially if you find it on sale at $30 price point.

The opening notes are a little too sweet for my taste but the dry down however is way more subtle and palatable (a little really goes a long way). I wouldn’t reach for it every single day, but it’s still a compliment getter for sure!
