I tried Paleo Valley, which is unflavored, so it is to be expected that it would be, and is, pretty bland. It would likely work well in recipes where you don’t want it to dictate the flavor of the dish, but as a standalone broth, well… So I added my favorite salt (celtic grey sea salt, which is good for you as opposed to regular table salt with all it’s additives after having been stripped of it’s nutrients) and a little organic onion powder, which helped but was still a no-go. I then tried it half and half with Amy Myers (who initially put me on the path to recovery from gluten sensitivity) bone broth, whose broth is too strong so the combination worked really well. Very tasty (still used the salt though, so I get the added bonus of minerals). Since one is made with bones, and the other with hides, and both claiming to be the best kind of collagen I figure I am getting the best of both worlds. I have a cup almost every day as part of my lunch (along with a nut and seed granola by grandy organics). It takes just minutes to make, and travels well in a thermos when needed. It’s also one of the few things I can make/eat on the fly, so that’s a big plus.

This protein is one of the best quality proteins I’ve had. I wish it was a little less expensive and had a little more protein but the taste is amazing. Love the quality as well.

So thankful for the protein quality and this company. It truly is the cleanest and healthiest protein powder out there. We have tried a lot and trying to be more nontox and love this! It’s easy to blend into liquids or bake with.

I initially tried this with their sample offer. It was delicious and I felt better.
I will admit I tried a less expensive brand because it seemed comparable. It was not and made my stomach sick.
Paleo does not affect my digestion and it has improved my joint and muscle health. No more aches in my hips. I generally have an overall better feeling since drinking this and the chocolate is very tasty and not overly sweet. I have a personal blender and add it to my milk in the morning. Blends up good and dissolves. If you are on the fence, don’t be. Just buy Paleo Valley and learn from my mistake of trying something else that was not the same. So happy I found this product. Happy it’s on Amazon so I can get it quickly seeing I was out of it. Thank you Paleo Valley!!

I have been purchasing another brand of collagen and decided to try the Paleovalley Bone Broth. Well, as soon as I opened the package, the smell hit me. It smelled like something rotting. Despite this, I tried it in my tea and it didn’t taste good at all!! So, needless to say, I will go back to my other brand.

I am 52 years old have have tried a lot of protein over the years. Almost always disappointed in the ingredients, I was very excited at this simple protein with no additional ingredients. After I received my first bag, I was initially put off by the smell, but then after doing some research I found out that this is normal for real bone broth protein. Regardless of the smell, it has zero flavor that I could notice and usually mix it with my coffee in the morning or sometimes in my oatmeal. I will never use another protein other than this. Virtually every other protein has a bunch of strange ingredients that my body doesn’t need or want. I strongly recommend as the real deal.

The smell is like the Swiss Miss hot chocolate packets and It’s VERY sweet. The taste is decent but after taste is awful…. And it lingers. It’s like a bitter metal taste that I can’t quite identify but I’m not sure I can get past.

It doesn’t come from hides as much of the “collagen” powders available do. It’s not that those are value-free, but this is a higher quality product. I used to make my own long-cooked bone broths and dehydrate them. It’s a LOT of work, and while I still make broths, I used Paleo Valley’s for the dehydrated needs. It’s part of a regimen to add quality, bioavailable protein to an elderly family member’s diet. We can’t just stuff more steak in him. This is great to mix into the morning drink and afternoon smoothies (both sweet and savory), and it has been a key part of helping this family member re-gain weight after several hospital stays. I like it sooo much I’ve added it to my daily regimen, too.
