I’ve tried five brands of powdered lysine, two brands of lysine treats, as well as the old sticky Viralys and this is mine and the cats favorite powder based on taste. I take in stray cats and calicivirus and respiratory issues are non-stop so I’ve been supplementing lysine for years.
FLAVOR-All 9 of my cats love the flavor this brand. I mix it with canned food so I can be assured each cat gets the correct dosage. I do not sprinkle it on dry food as then I can’t tell who got what.
DOSAGE-this one is my favorite as it takes a much smaller scoop to deliver 900mg. The other brands of powder I’ve tried vary in how much powder/scoops you need to use and how much lysine you’ll get. This one has the smallest amount of powder, a therapeutic level of lysine, and the best flavor.
Other brands can have much less lysine and/or require larger amount of powder. I’ve tried two brands of chews, one has very little lysine in it and it was universally hated by the cats. The other is loved by all the cats but has a lower (500mg) amount of lysine. Between that chew and this powder they get the appropriate levels.
So this is my favorite powder and my cats willingly eat it. Everyone’s happy.

Update: Jan 28, 2023–Still using daily. As I originally noted, we give our cat 1/2 dose (450mg) daily. We tried cutting the dose to 1/4 (225mg) and after about 5 days, he started sneezing again so we went back to his previous dosing. We think he will always need an immune supplement.
I bought this product after reading many reviews about this one and other products. We adopted an adult cat from a rescue group and after a couple of days having him, noticed he seemed to have some kind of upper respiratory infection. We took him to the vet for a check up and he gave us a 10 day supply of anti-biotic, which didn’t do anything. The cat sneezed frequently and at times sneezed large gobs of mucus–pretty gross! When he slept we could hear his conjestion. After researching, I discovered some cats just have chronic respiratory infections that never resolve themselves. Instead of going back to the vet to infestigate the possibility of “allergies” I decided to try this. It took awhile to fully work (but maybe because we only give him half the dose listed on the container–they say 900mg, but I read info. stating cats should not have more than 450 daily of lysine). Within 2 months his issues have seemingly resolved themselves! We’re so pleased. We plan on keeping him on this daily immune support supplement. I also like how this is made in the USA.

I use this for AM and PM feedings for 2 cats. They seem to enjoy it when it’s made into a “soup” with their wet food. Definitely see the benefits, fur looks better and feels softer. No more sneezing and goopy eyes. My 15yr old cat seems so much healthier and back to her normal self. Playing and loving life. It’s easy to use just sprinkle and go. There is no particular smell, but I haven’t really tried to really smell it. Great value for the money. I bought this back in February and I’m ready to get a new bottle -June now . To be fair I probably don’t need it till July, but I like to be prepared and not run out of things.

Walter has a long history. He showed up Jan 2019 with my feral colony of 7 cats. He had two litters with the only female before I was able to trap her and had her fixed. I thought he was feral. So, Sept 2019 I trapped him and had him fixed. He was big 16 lbs. He disappeared Oct 2019 and returned Thanksgiving 2021. He would come late at night to eat and I did not recognize him. scrawny, little fur and sickly. He came 5am one morning and I followed him. Found where he was sleeping in a neighbor’s garage, 3 streets from me( a long walk). Jan 6th 2022, he came to eat around noon, sat in my garage and never left. He had a terrible nose infection, lots of mucus and bleeding, and his meowing was horse and horrible. when he would sneeze, his nose bled a lot. I took him to three different Vets. One said he had a tumor in his nose. Tried several Rxs. nothing worked. To remove the tumor and treat if it was cancer was out of my pocket range.
So to the L-Lysine. I read a lot about it. I gave him every am and pm. from Aug 2022. Four weeks ago the bleeding stopped, he is breathing better, meowing normal, but still has a snatty nose and would blow out some mucus now and then. He was 9lbs and diabetic when he returned. Now he is 16lbs with lots of fur.
I believe that supplements do help a lot, (from personal experience) and would continue to give him this L-lysine.

I care for a colony of feral cats, and they share health issues which shall not be named, apparently, according to the community guidelines for reviews. I didn’t realize there was HIPAA for cats. LOL. Anyway, L-lysine is supposed to help with that. However, I can’t catch many of them to treat them. This product allows me to treat their food. I dampen the food a bit so that the powder sticks to the food, and they eat it without protest. It’s a coarser powder than the capsules I’ve been using and dumping on their food. I’ve been using for about 3 weeks and have not seen a marked difference in their health so far, but am hopeful it will help them over time.

Decent product, but it only gives dosage in terms of “scoops” – 1/2 scoop, 1/4 scoop, etc. A scoop was not included in the package, so I had to figure out what size a scoop was considered to be. Would be a lot more convenient if the scoop was included.
