I had been taking this for a while at the recommendation of my physical trainer. He says it eliminated pain in his knees due to his sustained long-distance running. Bi flex helped my knees and ankles a lot. But you have to use it for a while for results. I took it for three weeks and stopped, thinking it wasn’t working. Then I felt my joints and saw oh it works! The uncoated pills do have a fishlike taste and it took a while to get used to it.

A publication discussing the use of glucosamine sulfate and chondroitin sulfate (the most common forms of the supplements) to treat knee osteoarthritis was published in the July 14, 2003, issue of The Archives of Internal Medicine. My personal experience is similar. My left knee no longer clicks (damaged meniscus) with the frequency that it did for a half-dozen years and I can do squatting and lunging exercises without pain now.
