I’ve tried liver capsules, but unless you actually eat Liver on weekly basis, you won’t get enough DAO. As body ages, DAO enzyme production declines. Caffeine-containing drinks, coffee, and especially black tea, inhibit DAO. My stupid combo was aged cheese on a cracker, with two cups of English breakfast [palmface]. Lesson learnt. Enter Omne Diem DAO, which from here henceforth, I carry with me at all times.
If you know you’ll drink beer/wine, enjoy a charcuterie board, have a tomato bisque – do yourself a favor – drink this 20-30 minutes prior. You can thank me later.

I’m disappointed in Omne Diem.
I’ve used about seven bottles of this product, and one bottle in January had an extremely strong plasticky petroleum smell. I tried to take them a few times and gagged severely, so much so that I actually vomited.
I decided to reach out to Omne Diem, the manufacturer, for their advice.
When I emailed them, they admitted there was a manufacturing defect with a certain batch of products released on the market. They explained:
“It seems a few bottles at the end of a 5,000-bottle production batch were affected by the heat seal staying on too long which caused an odor to develop inside the bottle. Please return the product to us for a free replacement.”
This explains why the pills tasted strongly of plastics, almost like petroleum. Because the pills were infused with heated plastics. But I understand these things happen and I didn’t get angry; I decided to just take them up on their offer.
They got back to me later saying they couldn’t find my order number. I explained, again, that I purchased on Amazon, and I had already provided them with the receipt PDF.
It was at this point that they completely ghosted me. They stopped responding to my emails. I reached out several more times giving them an opportunity to correct the situation, and they never answered any of my messages after that point.
So, know that you might be potentially buying a product that is not subject to sufficient quality control… which might produced by a company that just might completely ignore you if you are affected by such an issue.

I have struggled for a few years with migraines. After doing a lot of food diaries and elimination diet I discovered multiple foods that cause my migraines. But I still did not have everything narrowed down. I did figure out that eating causes me many headaches. After research about histamine intolerance I decided to try this product. I take one before I eat. It has greatly reduced my headaches but I do still have to watch my diet and stay away from trigger foods. The only downfall is the price. $1.00 a pill. If it was a bit cheaper it would be perfect.

Between high histamine levels and immune disease I must carefully select supplements with full review of active and inactive ingredients prior to purchase. I react to all nightshades, legumes, citrus, nuts and much more. For 10 years I would often wake in the morning to a very swollen face, hands and gut with nasty malaise and great exhaustion!?!?
I learned from a Mast Cell Specialist about the high histamine gut and eliminating high histamine foods. With IBS that lead to SBO (that I can’t take antibiotics or probiotics for due to reactions) that wiped out one of the two enzymes in the gut that blocks histamine you end up with swelling. The mystery was it usually hit overnight while sleeping or within 10 minutes of waking???? Histamine rises at night and first thing in the morning!! Bingo after 10 years of hiding half the day due to swelling and feeling terrible I finally have it under control because of this supplement. Every now and again I will wake to a swollen face but the incidence of this happening has dropped 95% since it started taking this supplement twice a day when I eat. It has made a remarkable difference in my quality of life and have taken it every day for 4 months. i plan to stay on it for years to come. it really works for me and I hope it works for you, but like many supplements you need to find what works best for you and your system. I like the product very much, its not full of extra stuff I don’t want or need and it works great.

I have Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. I had read some reviews that this product helped other patients with my disease. MCAS is more than *just* food allergies, so this DAO vitamin won’t help with chemical and environmental allergies due to MCAS, but it does however help to some extent with my food allergies.
I will say that it is good to take this around 15-30 minutes before eating. I am less reactive to foods that I am normally more reactive to, when I take these pills. People with MCAS usually have a DAO deficiency, which is why this vitamin is so helpful. Just one pill alone is usually not enough. I read some reviews on MCAS website about this product and they suggested taking anywhere from 2-5 pills before each meal depending on severity of the histamine content in the food. 2 or 3 pills is what I usually do and thats what seems to work best for me personally. I have already bought a second bottle because it works so well. It is expensive but WORTH the price for histamine intolerance.

I take DAO 20 minutes before eating foods that are on my “avoid” list – like cheddar cheese and potatoes. I have not tested them on higher histamine foods like soy sauce and chili. I previously posted that I found them for less money, but looking again, I see that was for fewer capsules. This is the lowest price I can find today. The cost is absurd but so far other options cost more.
