This Plant Therapy Rest and Restore Supplement Powder affected me as a moderate to strong sedative that affords a good night’s sleep with fewer trips to the bathroom. It also messed with my digestion which is not something I want to happen when taken as directed before bedtime. I’m retired, and I usually go to bed when sleepiness overtakes me. I took this supplement a couple of hours before going to bed and the symptoms of digestive discomfort, including gas, began immediately. My fear that I’d be making trips to the bathroom all night didn’t materialize though. I had a late supper of bland dishes. No digestive issues before I took a scoop of this powder in a couple of ounces of water. Also for reference, this supplement did not give me nightmares as I get with melatonin. When I did wake between sleeping, I could feel something going on in my gut, but didn’t have the urgency that would have required sitting in the bathroom. So this powder works to relax for sleeping, but messes with my digestion enough to keep me from taking it a second time. I have other effective methods for getting back to sleep, including tongue relaxation and breathing that I use nightly, and medications that I use sparingly. Not recommended for taking as directed ‘before bed’ due to digestive issues.

I usually get my vitamins/supplements in gummy form. I decided to give this a try. I was not expecting the consistency of the powder. It’s like powdered sugar. I was expecting more of a mix (like a lemonade mix or something). I found the consistency different but it was perfectly fine after I got over that. It does not have a taste when mixed with water, which was fantastic. The water remains cloudy, which is why the no taste was a pleasant surprise. I only did a half scoop in 16 oz and it seemed like plenty.

If this only contained magnesium, I would probably rate it the same. The addition of L-Theanine pushes it above and beyond. It mixes well, does not have much of a taste, and really does help with my sleep. I have only taken it a few days and I am already happy with the results. Also, the price for 120 servings of magnesium is nearly unheard of. The value for the servings, product quality, and L-Theanine cannot be understated. No real complaints here.

I really wanted this supplement to work. I had a scoop of this before bed, and when I woke up, I had gas, stomachaches, and other digestive problems. I will not continue using it due to this. The powder doesn’t have a strong taste and wasn’t hard to shallow. I didn’t really sleep well either because of the stomach discomfort.

I’ve been in such a slump lately, sleeping all day due to lack of energy and then having trouble going to sleep at night. I had been reading about the benefits of different supplements for women’s health and when I found this product, I was excited to try it because it contains magnesium and L theanine, which are two supplements that I really wanted to try. Maybe it’s all in my head but I’ve only been taking it for 2 days and already feel more energized and focused in the mornings. I look forward to my day instead of not wanting to get out of bed. I have made more effort to go to sleep earlier and have had little to no trouble falling asleep. I’m going to continue to take this product to see the positive impacts it might have on my life. I also feel like my stress levels have reduced.

I’ve read that powdered magnesium is gentler on the gut, so I was hopeful this would help me fall asleep better at night, without the stomach issues (like when I take magesium in pill form). The Plant Therapy Rest & Restore Magneisum Powder is incredibly fine—almost like powdered sugar consistency—so it combines easily with water. The serving size is a very small scoop, so I only needed about a shot glass amount of water. That’s helpful because then you can take in one drink. It’s not a bad taste, but not something I’d want to sip on. Anyway, I’m not sure it really helped me fall asleep any faster, but I struggle for any sleep aid to work. So, if magesium DOES help you, I think it would be a great option!
