Real cold-pressed tamanu is dark, smells amazing, and is great for hair and skin. It is a thick oil that can solidify when kept in the fridge, so it needs to be left at room temperature until it is back in liquid form. This tamanu is wonderful, and my absolute favorite. I am almost addicted to its beautiful, earthy scent. I highly recommend it.

I owned and ran a natural skin oil business for several years. We sold virgin, extra virgin organic oils. Some were certified in the US and others in the EU. Some Tamanu oils are richer than others. This bottle was quite rich and had the scent, color and consistency of the Tamanu from Vanuatu that I sold. It’s not an inexpensive oil and this was priced well for 4oz. We sold quite a bit to people who had radiation burns from cancer therapies. Tamanu works well to soothe inflamed skin. My Admin was diabetic and had issues with skin healing. She has a small burn that after a month hadn’t healed and the Tamanu worked quickly for her. She thought the oil thing was like witchcraft until it worked for her and then she understood. Some use this for facial skin but the scent can be objectional to some but worth it to have available for skin irritations. It has a distinct scent – I call it a organic rich deep fruity scent. Very distinct. Knew immediately that this was the real thing. Some people also use Tamanu to help acne scars. I always recommended extra virgin Rosehip oil from Chili for scarring because it has special skin properties with a much lighter fragrance for the face. This is a very oily oil as opposed to dry oils like Moroccan Argan and Brazilian Maracuja oils which absorbs quickly into the skin. The skin is the largest body organ and most creams simply don’t penetrate skin tissue which is why so many of us need to constantly use body and hand cremes. Fine skin oils stop the dryness even when washing your hands often during the day.
This arrived nicely packaged in a two part box. It came with a screw on cap and under the second section is a dropper and a pump so you have a choice how to use. Also it’s in a good quality dark amber glass bottle. Exp 2/29/28. Just the bottle, dispensers and box can cost several dollars right now so this was a very good buy for this oil. It’s a staple in my cabinet.

I just received my package 2 days ago. The first thing I noticed when I opened it was that it smells like a box of Raisins so if you don’t like that scent don’t order it. I decided to wash my face and put it on to test it out. A little goes a LONG way. It goes on thick and heavy but as you smooth it out on your face its not as heavy. I don’t notice any changes on my face as of yet since it’s only been 2 days but my husband mentioned that my face appears more clear when I’m wearing it.
My face does feel a tad bit itchy while wearing it but nothing intolerable. I have sensitive dry skin so my face normally itches with products on it. Due to the sensitivity of my skin, my face breaks out with things I add to it but so far no break outs. The consistency feels good enough to keep my face moisturized during the cold winter so that’s a bonus. When I washed it off my face felt sooo soft. I’m excited to see what the results will be in a month.
