I am not one to use the ground flaxseed so I purchased these and am extremely pleased. I even use it occasionally on my skin since the ALA is in this oil based capsule. ALA (alpha-lipoic-acid) is used as n ingredient in some hi end skin care products. I’m 66 yrs of age n need all the help I can get. I mix a few drops w/organic coconut oil to moisturize my skin. Plz try on a small patch of skin first. Recommended this to others and they find it helpful for dry skin and it doesn’t take long to see the difference.

I started having knee issues about 6 years ago. I also have arthritis in my hands. I got several cortisone shots in my left knee which helped but I didn’t really want to have to continue getting them. After the 2nd one, I started taking 1000mg of flax seed oil a day. My knees were doing better after about 3 months and the arthritis in my hands was almost gone. I got 1 more shot in my knee then upped the dose of flax seed oil to 1,400mg. I haven’t had a shot in over 4 years. Now I just use a maintenance dose. I take the capsule for about a week then take 2 weeks off. No problems.
I don’t have extensive knee damage so this worked for me. My husband does have knee and joint damage and these help keep his joint pain managable.

These have no flavor they are gel caps and you should not be able to taste the flaxseed oil inside. Ease of swallowing depends on your throat size, mine is large and I have no problems. Good value for this product. I have used Nature Made as often as I can find their vitamins in the store.

My husband started taking flaxseed oil when he was not tolerating fish oil well. He has not had any issues with this medication and we appreciate the higher dosages available so that he can take less pills. No GI upset, the capsules are a bit bigger than standard fish oil, but not enough to cause any issues with administration. They also smell a lot better than fish oil. 🙂 Great value for the price!

Dependable quality. Large but smooth to swallow. No flavor or aftertaste. I’m a repeat customer and have been for quite a while. mb

My Ophthalmologist recommended a daily dosage to help relieve mild dry eye symptoms, and this actually helps! This is a reliable brand, high potency, high container count, all at a very competitive price. Although the capsules are fairly large, they are easy to swallow and have no offensive taste. Repeat buyer of this product.

I started supplementing with high dosage Flax seed capsules after reading some research on the internet about the effectiveness. I IMMEDIATELY saw a difference in my skin and so did my aesthetician! I have ALWAYS had SUPER dry skin, especially my hands and shins. My shins were always peeling like a lizard…flaky white skin, constantly, then I tried the Flax Seed Oil Capsules! Lizard skin, GONE! I HIGHLY recommend for dry skin!

This review is for using this product for improving cholesterol #’s. This is just one of the products I used.
I’ve had mixed results with cholesterol lowering supplements and I have done a lot of research on them in the hopes of avoiding going on a statin. I’ve taken cholesterol supplements and had my cholesterol go down. I’ve not taken them and had my cholesterol go up. I’ve also taken them and seen no change. That being said it is definitely worth a try if you want to improve your lipids and avoid a statin.
I was taking this in conjunction with other supplements, all that have some scientific research proving they work. I did see improvements in my lipid panels when I took various supplements but was never able to tell what was helping the most. When I didn’t take the supplements my #’s would go up, but lately despite taking all of these supplements my #’s were high and I’m now on a statin and not taking any of them anymore. If you are concerned about your cholesterol I would strongly suggest talking to your Dr about a Coronary Calcium Scan as taking supplements can get fairly expensive. After my last lipid panel results came back elevated I went for the scan and my Dr and I decided to go on a statin instead of spending $750-$1000/year on supplements. For the record my CC Scan cost $100, most insurance will not cover it, but it was the best $100 I have ever spent on health care.
For the record I had the best test results when taking the following supplements each day:
Flax Oil 2 x 1000mg
Krill Oil 2 x 1000mg (fish worked too but I hated the after taste, none of that with krill)
TR Niacin 3 x 500mg
Sytrinol 2 x 150mg
CoQ 10 1 x 100mg
Pantethine 3 x 450mg
Plant Sterols 3 x 800mg
Glucomannan 3 x 1150mg
These were all spaced out AM, Lunch, PM.
Comparing my worst and best lipid #’s from blood tests from a lab, these supplements did the following:
Total – Lowered 60 points – 22%
Bad – Lowered 53 points – 27%
Good – Increased 15 points – 22%
Tri-G’s – Lowered 37 points – 25%
Good to Tri-G Ratio – Worst was 2.62, while on all these went as low as 1.75 (Harvard Med study lists this as possibly the best predictor of heart attack risk). Ideal is below 2.
It should be noted that I rarely eat any meat other than fish/shell fish…rarely eat egg yolks…and have a fairly healthy diet…mainly my lipid issues are genetic.
