I’ve been using the Bergamot extract (1 capsule twice daily) as an alternative to statins to help lower my cholesterol. I don’t tolerate statins well, and also tried ezetimibe (Zetia) with similar poor results. However, the Bergamot does lower my cholesterol significantly without the digestive problems. Based on the results of a recent study, I’ve also started to combine the Bergamot extract with artichoke extract and should see those results (which according to the study should be even better) soon after my next blood cholesterol test.
