Flavor-wise, I dont like this quite as much as the other chocolate peanut butter-flavored protein powder I use. Coming in at 150 kcal and 25g of protein per scoop, however, it’s nice when I want a protein shake that’s a bit on the lighter side.

The product description repeatedly mentions using it post-workout. A quick look at the ingredients label tells you why: it contains phosphorous and magnesium, which help to reduce muscle pain and speed up recovery. I don’t know how much I would actually use it for this purpose, as I prefer a light sugar-free electrolyte drink after working out, but I’ll sometimes have a protein shake before exercising; once I’m out of the 100-calorie packets I’m currently using, I may start using this. For the time being, however, I’ll be slotting it into my breakfast rotation.

I’ve been using protein powder for many years, initially chose this brand for price, but has became my go to. Mixed well with coffee or milk & dissolves well.

Great value, little to no texture, tastes great.

massive feature, for me, is it using stevia instead of sucralose. look at every top protein brand on Amazon and you’ll see they (almost) ALL use sucralose as the sweetener. for me, it leaves a disgustingly sweet after-taste that follows me the rest of the day and it’s my most hated artificial sweetener because of that reason. i think i remember seeing that it’s similar to other flavors or foods, where some people just have a hyper-sensitivity to it, and (unfortunately?) i have that with sucralose. my usual protein powder has it, so swapping to this was an instant improvement in that regard. stevia still does leave a bit of an aftertaste, but in testing, even if i dont drink or eat anything after, it *actually* goes away after about 20-30 minutes, and drinking or eating anything after, makes it go away after about 5-10 minutes. the aftertaste is also a lot more manageable, since it doesnt take like an overly sweet artificial taste.

flavor-wise, this tastes great. my usual protein powder is also chocolate peanut butter, but tastes super artificial and no real pb taste. this brand, however, is very natural tasting, the ingredient list is ultra clean when you look at it. the peanut flour gives it a very noticeable peanut taste, the cocoa powder tastes almost like a dark chocolate, not too sweet, and also overall mildly bitter, it’s so delicious. creamy in water and very creamy with milk. i like adding in some instant coffee every now and then to change things up, and this pair perfectly with it, considering it has a very subtle coffee-like flavor to it, probably from the bitterness it has that reminds me of coffee, super decadent combination though, no need to add creamer or sugar, just warm up some milk (do not use hot milk, the protein will turn to jelly), measure out the protein powder and instant coffee and pour the milk in and mix, definitely a must try.

this doesnt mix all that great. with water it mixes just alright and with milk, it gets very clumpy, unless you use a shaker or blender (id assume, although i havent tried), i always just scoop, add my liquid then stir with a spoon. takes quite some time and effort this way, but i think it’s because of how much powder is needed (40g), and even when just doing half portion days, it’s still very clumpy. this requires more powder, while barely giving an extra gram of protein compared to my usual powder, and this brand also results in 20 more calories. i dont mind this, because it gives other things like magnesium, double the iron, potassium, etc, so it makes sense for the most part.

the only other issue besides no mixing well, is this does cause gas issues. both with making you gassy and also giving the “protein odor”to it. for me, this is a non issue, since i only ever take it when ill be at home, but if you plan on going out it’s something to keep in mind and test to see if it affects you.

overall, a huge fan of this, the taste is ultra clean and natural tasting, the peanut butter taste comes through well past the chocolate, it’s mildly sweet, and just ever so bitter and all pairs perfectly. it’s perfectly creamy and not off putting texture wise with water which is a huge plus, for days where i need to watch calorie intake and dont want to add extra from milk. it doesnt mix all that great and causes “protein flatulence”, but to me, the trade-offs are worth it for something that DOESNT use sucralose and tastes this good and natural.

This is easily one of the best tasting whey protein powders i’ve tried. It’s completely natural, and flavored only with cocoa, natural flavors, peanut powder, and stevia.

It’s just the right sweetness. I really like that this uses grass fed whey as well, which I consider to be more humane and generally better than other forms of whey. The downside is that this uses whey concentrate vs isolate. Concentrate is a mixture of casein and whey. I’ve found that whey isolate absorbs quicker and is easier to digest – but both are great options.

It’s a huge tub of protein powder, mixes up well, and tastes amazing. I far prefer stevia to sucralose or other sweeteners.

Overall – if the flavor sounds good to you, this is a fantastic protein powder.

My litmus test for a good tasting protein powder is if I can drink it with just water and not have to choke it own. This protein powder passes the test with flying colors. It’s perfectly fine with water, and it tastes like a good chocolate protein powder. I don’t taste a lot of peanut butter flavor, though. It’s even sweet enough to use as a replacement for nighttime sweet cravings.

Mix this with milk and the taste is out of this world good and tastes just like chocolate milk. It is cheaper than some other protein powders, but you have to take into account the serving sizes. For five pounds there are only 56 servings in comparison to the other leading brand’s 74 servings per five pounds. You’ll have to calculate the price on a per serving basis to see if it’s cost effective for you, but just know that the scoop size in this protein powder is pretty large.

Despite the large scoop size, it mixes as well as other protein powders I’ve tried–both in water in milk. I use shaker bottles and I’ll only get 1 or 2 dry clumps per drink. Acceptable in my book.

I don’t love that there’s 14% of your daily value of sodium per scoop. That’s nearly three times what I’ve seen with other protein powders. If you’re watching your blood pressure, like me, that extra sodium adds up. I don’t know why the extra salt is added, but it’s enough for me to not want to switch to this brand. For those without blood pressure issues, though, the sodium content shouldn’t be a deal breaker.

  6. Todd

Listing shows 30 g of protein per serving, whereas the product actually has 25 g per serving, which is a big discrepancy and is false advertising.

  7. Ali Saadat

Highly rated by Consumers Lab. Good taste but rather too sweet with Stivia for my taste.
