I tried the vanilla formulation of this meal replacement powder and overall I’m very satisfied. The bottle itself is large and will last quite a long time, the powder is fine and mixes very well. The instructions say to mix one scoop of this with water but I prefer to mix it with milk and have not had any issues with it properly mixing it. Honestly it tastes like a vanilla milkshake and I have been able to add some other fruit flavors to spice it up with no issues mixing things all together. Something to keep in mind is that this is not a diet drink this is a meal placement system so it does have a fair amount of calories in it but probably not as many as an actual meal.

I did not like the smell of this at all. When I opened the container I expected a vanilla smell I guess. The taste is quite bad I think as well. I tried chocolate almond milk, water, regular milk and adding fruit but nothing helped it. Waste of money as I’m sure there’s no refund for dislike of taste.

One serving is only 180 calories. For me, that’s not a meal. So calling this a “meal replacement” is a bit of a stretch. But… it has a good quantity of protein and dietary fiber, and is very low sugar. So, I really feel like this is that snack you want… crave even… but know you shouldn’t have. This certainly fills you up and satisfies the sweet tooth.
It has a creamy texture and doesn’t leave a residue in your mouth or in the glass. There isn’t an “artificial” aftertaste like many low sugar shakes have. This is also whey protein so it doesn’t have any sort of chalky aftertaste. This feels and tastes like chocolate milk.
The powder is very fine and mixes easily with water.

I really don’t know why Nutricost calls this a meal replacement shake. It isn’t. It is lacking too many things a meal replacement shake should have – vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients. I’ll give it this – it has protein, carbs, fat and fiber. So I suppose it’s kind of a meal replacement, if you’re into fast food?
The shake is filling, satisfying and tastes good to me. Even better mixed with milk, either cow juice or nut milk (don’t know why they call it nut milk – I’ve never seen udders on a nut). Anyway, can you use this to replace a meal while on the go, or drop some weight if drinking this in place of eating a meal? Sure. That’s the Slim-Fast shake way.
I’ve usually liked Nutricost products, but I think this one should have more of what a real meal replacement shake should provide. Three stars because it has more than the vegan one (which also tastes good), but can’t give it more than that based on the nutritional label. If you want this as a recovery shake, it works – protein and carbs, although the fiber will slow the absorption.

No clumping up like most powders do. Taste great even though its low in sugar. Has everything a meal shake should have, and a good fat source (MCT) High in fiber as well. I took a STAR away cuz you sent older stock that had a “used by date” that expires in 3 mths. All in all, it taste great. Thats what counts.

This is the first meal replacement I have tried. I somehow put on about 15lbs of weight I’d like to get rid of in the past year. My weight is cyclical like that and sometimes I use a temporary diet to re-regulate. This time, I thought I would try a replacement meal.
The taste is really good – very chocolatey. I’ve been using it for about a week now and have taken off about four pounds, but also readily watching what my intake is for dinner. Lunch consists of a side salad and this, so maybe it’s just my paying more attention to what I’m eating, but this does seem to be doing what I wanted for me.
No side effects, and I feel pretty full after drinking it.
