I was worried about not consuming enough iodine for proper thyroid function. Was starting to lean hypothyroid. I don’t eat table salt and that’s the place most Americans are getting their iodine. Also vegan so I’m not eating animal sources. This has been a perfect fix for me. Of course I keep an eye on thyroid function with my doctor and regular blood work. My physician was a little skeptical when I wanted to try this before a pharmaceutical approach. But I do a lot of research and was open to the pharmaceutical approach if this wouldn’t have worked. Iodine is important for lots of bodily function. This is an organic natural food substance not an extract or supplement. Not medical advise just personal journey.

What I like about Now supplements, including this Kelp is that they’re third party tested. This has a huge amount of iodine for such a small amount. Great for adding to raw cat food for iodine instead of using low sodium salt. Kelp is good for a cats dental health too and they don’t even notice the taste.

The NOW Supplements Kelp Powder, despite its claim as an ‘Excellent Source of Iodine and Super Green,’ falls drastically short. Reason being is, it’s not as organic as they claim it is. The 8-ounce package offers a gritty texture and an overpoweringly fishy taste, making it a challenging addition to any diet, and its organic certification does little to compensate for its mediocre quality. Overall, mediocre product and would not purchase again. If you are selling any types of supplements for the body or the mind please, please use high quality products and add information on the sources of all the ingredients inside of the products.

Using in my smoothies. It’s a strong taste so don’t use more than the little scoop in the bottle or it will be overwhelming in that sea like taste. Value for money
