I almost never write product reviews, especially on Amazon. So this is a testament to how well this stuff works.
I have an exotic shorthair. Flat face, goopey eyes even on the best of days, trouble breathing, etc. My cat also seems to have almost no sense of smell probably because she has tiny nostrils and respiratory issues – this means she eats only one type of particularly pungent kibble, no interest in any of the 20+ different treat brands I’ve got her, no interest in wet food, no interest in any human food.
I do not agree with the breed, she was a rescue and really is the sweetest cat ever. Her life has been difficult because of her breed specific issues.
I’ve had her on this for around 2 weeks and the difference is astounding. I haven’t had to wipe her face at all this week, very little goops (nothing she can’t groom off herself), her breathing is way better, and she is taking an interest in other food and sniffing EVERYTHING. I’m shocked. I assumed this would help a bit but she really seems so much more lively and happy. She’s acting like an actual cat, playing and running around (which would have tired her out way quicker before), doing cat things she hasn’t done before.
I’ve had her for 2 years and I’ve never seen her like this. YMMV of course, and I can’t tell if the results will last long term. But I am very satisfied with this purchase.
Also great value. No scoop is included but it’s only a 1/8 tsp twice a week sprinkled over her food. This will last easily a year+.
She hasn’t turned her nose up at it yet so I don’t think she notices it’s there.
Definitely worth a try. Especially if you have a brachycephalic cat breed (flat face).

Per my veterinarians suggestion, my kitten was placed on L-Lysine supplement, for his respiratory issues. We tried the treats that contained the supplement in them but that only lasted about a week before he became disinterested. So now we are on to another version that can be mixed with his food. Fingers crossed that this does the trick. Amazon, with there vast numbers, of different products to choose from, along with the fast shipping they offer… Is the best and most reliable choice for my current needs.

Bought this to replace our normal product that was on back order. It works okay, I have noticed my cat sneezes more often since switching though. It mixes well with wet cat food so it’s easy to give to our cat. The texture is good, less of a fine powder so it doesn’t create a lot of smoke. My cat doesn’t seem to mind the taste of it either which is good. Will probably switch back to our old brand since our cat was less sniffly before, but this is a good alternative.

I have a cat who needs l lysine. This sticks well to her food. Other products with meat flavors seem to turn her off. I would leave the jar open to let the smell dissipate. This product doesn’t have that problem.

Very happy with this product. All 4 of my boys were starting to sneeze with the weather change or a kitty cold. I gave them each 1/8 of a tsp every 3 days in their wet food. They did not even taste it. Within a few days, no more sneezing! Highly recommend. 1 bottle will last you a lifetime if dosed properly.

I bought this because my young kittens were having issues with eye discharge. Using this in tandem with an eye cream has cleared it up and I will continue to give them some of this once a week just to keep their overall health up.

Our cat Casey had a serious issue of sneezing snot everyday, all day. I was literally coming after him each time to clean the floor, walls, curtains, etc. This went on for several months and I became very concerned about the health of our cat. It progressed to where his nose was runny, snot was building in his nose, and I could literally hear him breathing and sniffing. So whatever he had was progressing and getting worse. I was so worried. I finally took him to the vet where he was given antibiotics. Honestly, I gave it 2 weeks to work and noticed no improvements. So I decided to revisit Lysine.
Prior, I was giving him Lysine here and there but in a desperate attempt to help our cat I decided to be consistent and give this to him daily. The instructions said 2 servings daily for an adult cat but after reading one review here that mentioned 3 servings daily helped I decided to do the same.
No lie, within a matter of maybe 2 weeks of consistently giving him Lysine 3 servings a day his sneezing and snot discharge became significantly infrequent. Now he’s been on it for about 4 weeks and what a HUGE DIFFERENCE. The sneezing stopped. No snot build up on his nose. He can finally breathe through his nose. Im not cleaning snot from the floor anymore. I also notice that I’m not seeing any eye boogers either.
This thing is a miracle in a bottle. My advice is to consistently give your cat Lysine. Over time you may see improvements like I did. If the standard serving size isn’t helping, maybe give an extra serving. I’m so happy to see my cat back to normal after literally months of issues and being worried. I put this in his wet food and he eats it right up. Highly recommended.

I started using feline Lysine many years ago on advice from my veterinarian on how to keep runny noses/goopy eyes – hallmarks of calicivirus, rhinotracheitis, or feline herpes – from developing into full-blow upper respiratory infections. At the time I had a Mom cat and six babies – rescues from a hoarding situation – who’d been exposed to calicivirus. The vet said it was a good possibility they’d need to be on Lysine all their lives, every day. I went through several brands – Vetoquinol, TomLyn, a few off-brands – because just as I’d settled on one, the price would go through the roof, forcing me to find a new, affordable brand.
Finally NOW Foods started making their own version of Lysine – and it’s 16 oz – double the size I could get from the other brands – and usually under $10.00, which will last 5 cats two months, given once a day in food. So obviously, a lot of cost savings. This brand has no smell or taste, making it easy to disguise in kibble with a little wet food mixed in – that’s the pictures attached.
Also, I’ve used it for sick cats who’ve needed an immune booster – which Lysine also does; and for our litter of neonate kittens who didn’t have any colostrum from their feline Mom. I want to give them the best start I can, and I think it’s helping already. Also is a protein-builder, making it a good nutritional supplement for sick, senior, or baby cats.
