My main reason for ordering this item was hoping that it might help with insomnia. I have not found it to be a benefit in that regard but I’m also not sure if the product is supposed to help with sleep anyway (I’ve found mixed information on this).

As usual, a great value from Now.
Compare this bulk powder to tablets: it’s a definite deal.
Yes, it tastes fish sauce-y, but simply mix in a mason jar and leave in the fridge a while.
And add ice for even less taste.
Once fully cold, the taste is much milder.
Hold your breath while drinking and it almot disappears.
Most of us need more mag, and this form is very bioavailable.
Highly recommended.

I’ve just stated taking this form of magnesium for some health issues. I am not sure if this form is available in caplets or tablets but this form tastes terrible. I mix it with plain water and I don’t like that it requires a LOT of stirring to dissolve completely (which helps the taste). I’ve tried mixing it with a few other things but because it doesn’t dissolve readily it just makes whatever I mix it with taste terrible. Otherwise it works as expected for my health concern.

I recommend it, it is a good product.

So NOW sponsored a study that analyzed a bunch of different Magnesium glycinate’s for sale on Amazon and found that most of them don’t have the advertised amounts of magnesium glycinate and must be diluted with some sort of other ingredients. The brand I had been using was listed in the study, as well as another brand I had tried, and after being disappointed with the second one I tried, decided to give this a shot.
I always take the capsules and pull them apart to dilute the contents in water. This is a night and day difference compared to the other brands in capsules that I’ve tried. It dilutes so much more easily. But I’m inclined to believe the other brands do infact have some degree of degraded content because, much to my surprise, I’ve felt this is clearly more effective. I used to have to supplement with additional glycine and since I started this one that’s been entirely unnecessary. The level of calm, the vividness in dreams – it’s a step up from what I had been using previously.
The taste is not the best, but it hasn’t been a problem for me diluting it a bunch in a large mug of hot water.
It’s also the best value of the bunch I’ve tried thus far, what with getting the powder instead of capsules.
Highly recommended, definitely worth a shot!

If you hate fish, this is a no go.
The price is good but I can’t speak for the quality. I can’t get past the taste, I have tried refrigeration and some other tricks. It still taste a mineral fishy taste no matter what I do. The liquid drops I was using cost a bit more but they’re worth it. The remainder of this bottle is probably headed for the compost bin.

This is not the worst tasting thing I’ve ever ingested, but it’s in the top five.
If you haven’t ordered yet, and want an approximation of the taste, do the following.
Get about an ounce of water, and dissolve a teaspoon of baking soda in it. Then, if you have it, add two or three drops of Asian fish sauce, and mix. That’s about what it tastes like to me, it also leaves a slight metallic aftertaste, although not every time. It’s slightly sweet too, but that doesn’t help much!
To make it go down easier, here’s a trick – a big component of taste is smell, so if you can use the old-fashioned trick of holding your nose while you drink it, that will kill alot of the taste, and if you can mix it into just enough water to get it all down in one gulp, it make it almost painless.
Citrus flavors mixed in help, especially a lemonade flavor, but I can’t see anything masking its flavor completely.
It has helped me with my sleep, my brain fog (particularly upon rising in the morn), I breathe easier and deeper, and I don’t seem to be as cold this winter as I have been the past two winters. My mood seems to be better as well, I don’t get ‘down’ as easily.
As far as dosing, I started slow, with one quarter of the recommended dose, then added a quarter every day to get up to the recommended two teaspoons worth. I don’t experience any, or very minimal, gastrointestinal effects.
Good stuff! You can do it!

I was kind of scared to order this after reading all the reviews about how bad it tastes. I was pleasantly surprised–it tastes a just a little bit like baking soda.. Hot bad.

Very happy for the price to actual supplement ratio. Lasts me nearly 8 months for less than $30AU. Worth it for how it makes me feel. Also for you babies who cannot stand the taste. I honestly cannot see why people are bother by the taste. It’s fine. It’s honestly mild compared to other supplements I’ve tried. Thanks the gods it doesn’t taste as bad as I’ve tasted.
Anyway I at least understand since mum can’t stand it either. But tolerates it with standard orange juice. It’s probably a good thing to taste it anyway to prove it is what it is… The only time I’ve had Magnesium glycinate that is “foul” was out of cheap capsules from the supermarket that I tried dissolving. NOW’s one taste brilliant in comparison.
