The product exceeds expectations. I have been unable to purchase the Special Two Vitamins by NOW due to then being out of stock for months. I researched multiple products and this is closet to the Special Two by NOW that I’ve been able to find. I’m happy with them so far. I’ve only been taking them for a few weeks, so I’ll follow up in 3 months with a review.
Ethereal snake oil salesman –
These are a bit pricey but the ingredient quality is better than most multi vitamins. It’s impossible to get all the nutrients you need in these pills but they hit all the right stuff and most of it is the higher absorption type.
They do make me retain water a bit? Interesting side effect.
Overall, I do feel like these are worth the extra money. I take these along with extra vitamin k and d, omega 3’s, and magnesium glycnate.
Good stuff. Makes your pee reallll stinky. I’m probably just dehydrate lol.

I’m a retired 67-year-old male. On Oct 12th 2023, I purchased from Amazon (seller: Nutri Catalog) a 2-pack of Adam Multi-Vitamins 180 softgels.. Currently, for a 180 softgel 2-pack from the same seller, it costs $66.20. Weekly I assemble individual packs of all my supplements ahead of time. Upon opening one of the Adam Multi-Vitamin bottles, all of the softgels were covered in a bright yellow oil. I dumped out all the pills and identified (by gently squeezing them with tissue) the ones that were leaking (approx. 15 or so). I disposed of the leaking pills. Then I cleaned out the bottle and wiped off each the remaining pills, assuming I resolved the issue, and placed them back in the bottle. A week later when I went to assemble my supplement packs, I noticed the oily mess had returned. I repeated the process to discover around the same number of defective pills. Again, I disposed of the bad ones, cleaned up the good ones and moved on. I assumed I just missed some the first time I discovered this issue. Not so fast. It’s now happened a third time. It takes a while to clean up the bottle and every single pill. But I decided to cleaned up the mess one last time. Since then, it appears I may have saved the remaining pills in that bottle. So, I figured I better open the second bottle, and low and behold, they were the same. I didn’t attempt or plan to clean them up. I’ve been buying the Adam Multi-Vitamins for many years, from different sources, and have never experienced this issue before. I’ve tried a number of different brands over the years but found this one meets my needs perfectly. So, I haven’t lost faith in this product and do plan to continue purchasing. I don’t plan to order again from the same Amazon seller, only to find they still have in stock ones from the same lot. I contacted Now Foods and they said they were investigating this situation. But they said I need to go back to the seller for a refund. Probably won’t happen since they were purchased Oct 15th, 2023.

Why would you listen to me versus someone else? Well, I’ve spent over 10 years of my life dedicated to learning about nutrition. I’ve worked with nutritional companies. I’ve learned about enzymes, amino acids, chelation process, co-enzyme process, osteoclast/osteoblast processes, probiotics, prebiotics, homocysteine levels and how to control them, and the list goes on and on. I have read the backs of so many multi-vitamin boxes that I could write a book on that alone.
I never, and I mean never, liked multi-vitamins until I ran across this product. Multi-vitamins either have too high of doses, too low of doses or an incomplete list of vitamins and minerals. Even good brands of multi-vitamins always seemed to be missing some key piece of nutrition like many would have a very low dose of Vitamin K2 or be missing molybdenum altogether. Then others would have way too much of something I didn’t need like calcium. So, if I would take their multi-vitamin, I would still be deficient in some things and have way too much in others. Finally – this product has the right amounts, with the right quality, in the right proportions, and with the right delivery method. Later in this review, I’m going to list a few of the ingredients I find especially helpful; there are more I would like to list, but I’m trying to keep the review as short as possible. Overall, this multi-vitamin supplement is the most complete I have found on the market yet.
Pros:
– Does not overdose ingredients
– Uses high quality ingredients
– Many vitamins are co-enzymed and minerals are chelated for more bioavailability
– They use a blend of co-enzymed and non-coenzymed, which is unique and beneficial
– Provides a broad, complete spectrum of vitamins and minerals in proper amounts
– Softgels contain liquid which is the most absorbable
– Softgels have more rounded corners making them easier to swallow than hard pressed pills
Cons:
– Uses Folic Acid (100% DV). Still acceptable because its a low enough dose.
– Size of Softgels can be difficult for some to swallow, but that would be the case for any multi-vitamin since these are no larger than other multi-vitamins.
Tip for those who have trouble swallowing larger pills. Since these are Softgels, let the Softgel swish around in the mouth with water, and you will notice the outside of the Softgel becoming more slippery as it starts to dissolve. Do this for 30-60 seconds before swallowing and it should make it easier to swallow. Also, take one in the morning with breakfast and one in the evening with supper to split up the dose.
[+] PRODUCT INGREDIENT INFORMATION:
Here I will point out specifically why certain vitamins and minerals are so good in this product. I’m only going to draw your attention to a few ingredients just to give you an idea of the importance of these ingredients (keeping the review shorter). I am also going to add suggestions for products for older people or people who need a therapeutic dose (i.e., above a normal dose to aid in healing).
– Vitamin A: Includes both beta-carotene and Vitamin A. Contains 80% DV of Vitamin A and 120% DV of beta-carotene. This is a good combination because it is a low dose of Vitamin A. The reason having both is better has to do with when we age. Beta-carotene is converted to Vitamin A in the body. As we age, our body performs this conversion less efficiently; therefore, having a low dose of Vitamin A is important for older people and low enough as to not affect younger people.
Therapeutic Dose: Garden of Life – Olde World Icelandic Cod Liver Oil Lemon mint flavour, 8 fl oz liquid – this naturally supplies 5000 IU 100% DV of Vitamin A (not beta-carotene).
– Vitamin D3: (1,000 IU 250%). I would actually like to see this at 2,500 IU, but 1,000 is more than most Vitamins and it is an acceptable amount for someone under 40. People over 40 might want to consider supplementing with additional D3 (2,500-5,000 IU). Vitamin D3 has become the standard over D2 because the molecule is closer if not identical to the Vitamin D produced by the skin. Studies have found the deficiency of this vitamin being linked to numerous cancer risks. As we age, our skin produces less Vitamin D so even if an older person gets the proper sun exposure, he or she is most likely not getting enough Vitamin D, which is why supplementing with D3 is so important as we age. Critically important.
Over 40: Now Foods – Vitamin D-3 2000 IU 240 softgels
Over 55: NOW Vitamin D-3 5,000 IU,240 Softgels
– Vitamin K (80 mcg 100% as Menaquinone): The label says Vitamin K, but this is actually Vitamin K2 (i.e., Menaquinone), which is different than K1. An important function of K2 supports the bone-building (osteoblast) process. If this does not happen properly, then calcium does not get put on the bone properly and can therefore build up in the blood stream leading to calcium deposits in the arteries (i.e., hardening of the arteries) and bone spurs, which is an abnormal buildup of calcium on the exterior of the bone. There is lots of literature on the web about this. I read a study where supplementing with a therapeutic dose of K2 over 30 days increased the pliability of the artery walls. Very important vitamin.
Therapeutic Dose: Carlson Vitamin K2 MK-4 (Menatetrenone) 5 mg, 60 Capsules
– Vitamin B-6 (25 mg 1250%): This is supplied both in HCI form and as co-enzymed P-5-P form. Co-enzymed forms are more bio-available to the body because they are in a form that can directly be utilized by cells. The HCI form needs to be co-enzymed by the liver.
Therapeutic Dose: Now P-5-p 50 Mg, 90 Veg Capsules ($11.81 as of 9/1/18) A therapeutic dose might be taken to reduce systemic inflammation by reducing homocysteine levels. To reduce homocysteine levels, also make sure to take extra Folate as 5-MTHF (Thorne Research – 5-MTHF 1 mg Folate – Active Vitamin B9 Folate Supplement – 60 Capsules) and extra Methyl B-12 (NOW Methyl B-12 1,000 mcg,100 Lozenges) along with the P-5-P. If P-5-P is being taken to increase energy levels, then only Methyl B-12 need be added. Methyl B-12 and P-5-P are a great combination to increase energy levels. Take only one 50 mg P-5-P per day in addition to the ADAMS to stay under the tolerable limit whereas more than one dose of Methyl B-12 can be taken safely.
– Folic Acid (400 mcg 100%): Folic Acid is a synthetic form of Folate that needs to be converted in the body. As we age, our body becomes less efficient at converting Folic Acid to Folate, so there can be a buildup of Folic Acid in older people. This dose is a healthy amount that can be converted by most people, but because I am older, I take one of two non-synthetic forms of Folate (I switch between the two). These two non-synthetic forms do not suffer from Folic Acid buildup while making sure I get my adequate supply of Folate, which is important because a deficiency in B6, B12 or Folate can lead to high homocysteine levels. The two alternatives to Folic Acid are MegaFolinic (calcium folinate) and 5-MTHF (L-5-Methyltetrahydrofolate):

– Iodine (225 mcg 150%): With everyone moving over to sea salt, this has become more important because sea salt is not supplemented with iodine like table salt is. Having this in the supplement means you can safely use sea salt knowing you are still getting your daily allowance of Iodine. Very good.
– Molybdenum (75 mcg 100%): I often say this is the “Molybdenum test” for a multi-vitamin. If it doesn’t contain Molybdenum, then put it back because it’s junk. This is a very important trace mineral that supports an enzyme which is responsible for converting sulfur to bioavailable sulfur in the body. I even read one study that by adding this mineral to farm soil, it reduced the occurrence of cancer in a village. It’s an important mineral, and one that is not talked about enough.
Have you noticed a theme here? They did a wonderful job of blending a multi-vitamin that works for all ages. I believe this was done by design, which shows the depth of thought put into making this multi-vitamin. There are other good ingredients, but these are very important to note in the high quality this multi-vitamin provides. I will take no other multi-vitamin on the market. This product is that far ahead of the rest. I highly recommend this product for men. Now Foods makes a woman’s version of this product called EVE.

[+] HOW MUCH CALCIUM SHOULD BE IN A MULTI-VITAMIN?
This product has 55mg (6% DV) of calcium. At first, someone might think this is bad because it is a low amount. This is actually a good thing that they put a low dose of calcium, and here’s why. Calcium takes up a lot of space. If they put more calcium in this product you would need to take more Softgels (taking 3 instead of two), they would need to make the Softgels bigger making them harder to swallow, or they would need to leave out other important ingredients making the overall nutritional bank for the buck lower. Most people get enough calcium through dietary intake of milk products or other products supplemented with calcium such as almond milk. For those few individuals who don’t get enough calcium in their diet, an extra calcium supplement might be needed. The major reason not to put too much calcium in a multi-vitamin is that too much calcium intake is a bad thing which can lead to kidney stones, bone spurs and other high calcium related effects on the body. Therefore, the amount of calcium in this multi-vitamin is just right. It is enough to supplement those who need that little extra boost of calcium but not too much as to cause harm to others who already get enough calcium through their dietary intake.
[+] HOW MUCH CoQ10 SHOULD BE IN A MULTI-VITAMIN?
Multi-vitamins contain a broad spectrum of supplement ingredients to support as many people as possible. Therefore, it is not possible, nor is it desired, to tailor a multi-vitamins to suit the needs of a smaller fraction of the population. CoQ10 is a supplement that would be taken by some people in specific circumstances, but not by most people. This product contains a low dose of CoQ10 because of its importance, but it is not meant to provide 100% of the daily value of CoQ10, nor should it. A multi-vitamin should contain the vitamins, minerals and other supplements that support aiding a diet in general rather than providing specific nutrition for specific needs. Even though the CoQ10 dose is low, it more than acceptable and the fact that it is present at all shows the high quality of this multi-vitamin.
