i’ve tried my fair share of supplements, and would like to think that I know more than the average Joe in this field. Nordic naturals recovery plus is a supplement I can confidently recommend not only for recovery, but also just overall well-being and general health.
There is a blend of turmeric, glutathione and omega-3’s in the supplement however, each one of these compounds are in its optimal form. Turmeric has very low of bioavailability and many company’s prefer to pair it with bioperine aka black pepper to increase absorption, but not every customer appreciates the added bioperine as it can cause unwanted symptoms. There is Longvida optimized curcumin in this blend; this is not any ordinary turmeric as it is one that has been developed to enhance absorption by staying in your body’s system longer through phospholipids and its patented, solid lipid curcumin particle technology. This allows the curcumin to cross the blood brain barrier as well, which many if not all other types of curcumin are not able to.
In terms of the glutathione it is reduced; this is the form of glutathione that you want. Reduced glutathione is the active form that is able to fight off free radicals in the body. If glutathione is not reduced, it would be in it’s inactive state. also known as oxidized inactive glutathione.
I don’t really need to say much about the omega 3s as Nordic naturals are known for their exceptional quality of clean fish oil. The omega 3s are sourced from anchovies, which are one of the sources with the least amount of mercury as they are smaller fish.
All three of these compounds are supplements that I would personally take not just for recovery but general health. The amount of each compound is also very generous as they are almost 2 g of omega-3‘s, and 600 mg of Longvida curcumin. In the many human studies and trials done revolving Longvida curcumin, only around 200 mg for was needed and used to demonstrate an impressive multitude of health benefits. I am very impressed with this blend.

I was shocked when I poured these pills out they are enormous they are probably an inch long? will finish taking the ones I have but if you don’t like swallowing gigantic pills then I would look elsewhere. Also the dose is 3 pills which doesn’t even fit in my supplement organizer.

Conveniently combines both curcumin and fish oil, and doesn’t beat around the bush with respect to the types of fish used: purified deep sea fish oil from anchovies and sardines. I typically consume curcumin and fish oil in the evening, so use of this product reduces the number of needed capsules, although at a serving size of 3 capsules you’ll need to perform some simple math to determine whether you need to consume a full serving. I personally don’t. One thing worth mentioning is that this product does not make use of curcumin standardized for 95% curcuminoids like many other products, but instead makes use of Longvida Optimized Curcumin Extract. Nordic Naturals should better explain this deviation from the standard by noting that standard curcumin is poorly bioavailable, and Longvida ensures both 285x greater bioavailability and 65x higher blood plasma levels, supporting the movement of “free” curcumin from the bloodstream to target tissues. Longvida encapsulates curcumin in a protective lipid layer, delivering it to the lymphatic system, avoiding breakdown in the liver and excretion in the kidneys. Another reviewer here comments that these capsules are “chonky”, “horse pill in size”. Perhaps these are larger than those of other supplements, but about the same size as most other fish oils I’ve tried in the past.

Nordic Naturals has done it again – they came up with a really great product! I love their fish oil products and I was so excited to try this Recovery Plus which not only contains fish oil, but also super high-quality, fresh turmeric. It also has “Reduced L-Glutathione” which is an amazing antioxidant.
The dosage is very high and is intended to take for a two week period to really boost your recovery. I have been really pushing my body and I was feeling a little drained and tired. I got this so I could continue to push my activity and I feel like it has really helped my recovery.
I take the full dose of 3 soft gels, but if you are looking for longer term, you could take one a day and this would last you 1.5 months.
I really trust Nordic Natural products. I know this is a high-quality, safe, and effective. I think the price is very good. You might pay a little more for Nordic Natural products, but they are so much more effective and in the long run you are actually getting a lot more for your money than cheeps products that are inferior quality.
Look how wonderful the insides of the soft gels are. I always like to cut open my supplements to make sure the insides are something I want to put in my insides. This smells super fresh and look at that fresh, bright orange from the real turmeric concentrate!!!
Definitely a 5-star product and I am 100% satisfied!
