Nopalera’s Cactus Shower Gel – Dulce de Cuerpo boasts a unique list of ingredients that you don’t often see in other beauty products. As a beauty enthusiast living in the Southwest, the Prickly Pear cactus is one I am very familiar with seeing on a daily basis.

A silky and gentle body gel that’s safe for even the most sensitive of skins. I found that the shower gel has the best lather-payoff when using it on a loofa or shower sponge. I can also get a pump or two to lather enough to wash my entire body this way. It has a very light, beautifully amber-smoky scent. It’s not at all overpowering and I like that it makes me smell clean and refreshed.

As a desert dweller, I suffer from very dry and sensitive skin all year long. The unique ingredients of prickly pear oil coupled with delicate cactus flower extracts and blue agave extract helps by repairing my very dry skin’s barrier, provides anti-inflammatories, anti-microbial and vitamins as it purifies, soothes and softens my skin. I can feel the nourishment right as I lather the shower gel over my skin.

I would love to see refills available to purchase. The aluminum bottle seems too pretty to recycle once I’ve used all the shower gel.

Unfortunately this soap smells like musky BO. I’ve the brand but can’t deal with the smell.

This was a product and company featured on Shark Tank, and I use nopales almost every day in cooking, so I was intrigued. Most all of the products were just way too pricey to buy on the regular, for what you get and how quickly it runs out. I tried one of almost every item they make. Most all were nice, and scents are subject to individual preferences. None of the items bothered my respiratory system except the bar soap, but 99% of bar soap is that way for me. The shower gel is nice, but otherwise unremarkable, neither amazing nor bad. It was a nice normal size, and should last quite awhile.

Excellent product however more care needs to be made with the packaging. The lid was not secured on the bottle. Quite a bit of the gel spilled into the plastic bag and onto the brown paper it was wrapped in.
    It was very messy.

If you are anything like me, bath/shower time is a sacred ordeal. Not only is it of dire importance to make one’s shower a cozy refuge, but having effective, nice-smelling products is integral to the whole experience. I may not be beating the “bougie” accusations any time soon, but I’d rather have high expectations of my shampoos, body washes, and steam tabs than settle for subpar showers. We gotta get the papering in where we can these days, y’know?

This body wash is—I’m being totally serious here—one of the nicest things to ever touch my skin. The scent is heavily reminiscent of Commodity’s “Vetiver” fragrance, my favorite of all time. This took my by the most earthshaking of surprises, as it is a very distinct, grounding fragrance. Earthy, a tad sharp, and complex, this body wash gently whispers “I am luxurious” (screaming is for Garnier Fructis bottles, I feel). It cleanses wonderfully, subtly suds nicely on a loofa, and doesn’t irritate the skin (mine is incredibly sensitive and given over to itchiness).

I think this company has a lifelong fan, and it is me. My showers smell like a fragrance counter and I come out beaming, skin softer than high-thread count sheets. 10’s across the board.

100% transparent honesty, when I first opened the bottle to smell the shower gel, I was a wee bit disappointed as it had a kind of odd smell.
But I went ahead and used it in the shower. The smell, once in water and on the body, transforms and takes on a new life. It is actually quite a beautiful scent to me and kind of reminds me of when I used to go hiking on a sunny day in the desert in AZ during monsoon season, only to be drenched in 5 minutes flat. The rain would disappear as quickly as it arrived, and the sun would beat down again. But there is a distinct, memorable smell, and this reminds me of that for some reason. Maybe I just need a vacation in AZ, (I live in MN now!) but regardless it does smell lovely and lathers just enough. My skin feels great afterwards too.
Something I really was impressed by was the beautiful metal bottle. I think this is so neat and unique, and mostly I appreciate the lack of plastic. The pump worked perfectly, which is rare as usually (for any pump related products) I’m struggling to get the pump to cooperate and disperse liquid. Great product and would gladly buy this without hesitation.

Nopalera Dulce de Cuerpo Shower Gel is a light green colored shower gel with a bold, sensual fragrance. I was surprised and impressed to find that the 8oz of shower gel was held in a metal bottle making it a reusable option for the future. When the gel came in contact with a loofah, water, and my skin, it created a full and fluffy lather. The fragrance was prominent and reminded me of a cologne body gel. It felt good on my skin, cleansed my skin well, and rinsed off effortlessly without leaving any residue feeling on my skin. The fragrance remained in a softer form on my skin. After several days of use, I have found my skin to be noticeably softer and radiant in appearance. The gel is made with natural ingredients including Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract, Agave Tequilana (Blue Agave) Leaf Extract, Melia Azadirachta Flower Extract, Opuntia Ficus-Indica (Prickly Pear) Seed Oil, Cereus Grandiflorus (Cactus) Flower Extract among other ingredients. It is Made in the USA with Globally Sourced Ingredients. The product that I received has a best by date of 21 months from the date that I received it. I wish the bottle were bigger as I am a fan of this body gel. This would make a wonderful gift for a loved one or as a treat yourself present that encourages self care.
