I have to admit that I decided to try Nexium just recently for a reason that may not make sense to many. Unlike Prilosec and its various generic brands, Nexium doesn’t come in an annoying, confounded blister pack that I hate…with this, the pills are loose in an old time reliable little bottle that makes me very happy…I can’t speak for anyone else, but there has not been a time when I have gotten a hold of one of those blister packs that have like 10 pills in them where at least one or more hasn’t exploded out of the bubble and disappeared across the room, or on the floor. Even when I am careful and open it over a bowl or cup, it can exit the side or just miss the cup anyway. Very aggravating to me. Recently when I was in a local store here to pick up a generic Prilosec I spotted this on sale, and, I also noticed that when I picked up the package I heard a nostalgic and very welcoming sound of loose pills in a bottle..This is not exactly the same thing as Prilosec, but with the reviews I had seen of it on here I decided to try it…Well its been a week now and I my heartburn seems to be very much under control. Along with the cough and bloating that accompanies my GERD and always has…In fact, I would have to say that this is doing a little better job so far of dealing with it all. I have had troublesome heart burn since my days as a young man and have handled it in all manner of ways over the years. Everything from baking soda to just carrying around some sort of Tums everywhere I go..A few years back my heartburn turned to more than just the usual with more bothersome tummy troubles…These protein pump inhibitors, (PPIs) are the best thing to come along for GERD, especially when it got to the level I have gotten to with it…Other acid reducers neither lasted this long, nor did they work anywhere near as well…Like all PPIs, this is supposed to be taken only for a select period of time. In this case 2 weeks at a time like Prilosec…However if you’re like me just as soon as you stop the treatment your GERD symptoms reappear in a short period of time and you’re back on them again…Although I well understand the dangers of taking something like this continuously, I also know what GERD can do to you untreated and am well willing to take my chances with this…Besides, there are times when I lay off these PPIs anyway just naturally and am sometimes successful for a week or two before I have to resume them. That is kind of a built in safety thingy in my case…
In conclusion, Nexium is just a dollar or two more expensive than the generic Prilosec, and in addition to coming in an actual bottle it is working at least equal too and, so far even better than the Prilosec….Although most of the time the Prilosec seems to work very good, there have been days when I feel I needed to take another dose sooner for the heart burn or pain would return. That hasn’t happened so far with this and I am going to stick with it. It’s available on Amazon at a right fair price and I ordered my last package of it from here which arrives in no time…Very much recommended for both its convenience and effectiveness…

The TABLET form of esomeprazole is the best as far as I am concerned. They are easier to swallow and they work better for me than the capsules. Capsules are far more common and a bit cheaper, but I prefer these. The effectiveness of esomeprazole (Nexium) varies from brand to brand and according to the form of dosage, and this is the one that works best for me.
The only other downside, after cost, is that they are slippery. They always slide out of my fingers when I am setting up my weekly doses.
