Two capsules recommended. Only took one the first time to be safe. Glad I was cautious. That one capsule upset my stomach and kept me awake most of the night, until I caved in and took half of a retail over the counter, sleep aid at 2am.
Amazon won’t support this product so, no refund and it will just sit on my shelf until I throw it away.
Am about to purchase the plain 10mg Melatonin, that I have been taking for years, I am annoyed at the waste of money.
I should have stayed with something that was tried and true.

I like this sleep/melatonin supplement. It provides me a great night sleep, and I feel well rested upon waking. The positive results also show up in my sleep scores: my deep and REM sleep scores are optimal.
Some other things to consider are two capsules are required for a 10 mg dose serving, and the capsules are easy to swallow. My only complaint is you get a skimpy number of servings for the price.

This melatonin works great. I have used it for every night sleep issues and when I am flying on a long plane trip. They included B6 and magnesium to help with absorption of the various herbs. It has a combination of many natural sleep remedies including chamomile, tryptophan, GABA, St John’s wort, passion flower, ashwagandha and a few lesser known herbs. I have long and deep sleep when taking this supplement.

These melatonin capsules are loaded with good stuff like chamomile, goji berries, passion flower or St. John wort. The capsules are rather large and difficult to swallow. I have taken them for a couple of nights and at around 30 minute mark I was out of it. I wish the brand would be more open about itself, as it currently stands, nothing can be found online about them, makes it harder to trust.

I am new to melatonin use, and I have trouble sleeping because of anxiety and neck pain. I thought I would try these because I don’t want to resort to prescription sleep aids. I know there is a lot of information about what is the ideal dose of melatonin, and most sources indicate that less than 10 mg is sufficient, so I started with one capsule of this. As others have mentioned, the dosage is confusing. The front of the bottle says 10 mg, but if you look at the back of the bottle, it says “serving size” is 2 capsules and that is 10 mg. So, I am assuming each capsule is 5 mg. I have tried taking one capsule on a few different occasions, as the directions say, about 30 minutes before bedtime, but I noticed no difference. I will try taking two capsules and see if that makes a difference and update this review. I do appreciate that these are made in USA, and I like that they include the “bedtime blend” of several other herbal supplements that are related to relaxation such as chamomile and tryptophan. If you have a sensitivity to any herbal supplements, be sure to check the complete list–it is pictured on the product page.

I usually use Sleep 3 melatonin (10mg) and it has a handful of other extracts. I figured I would give this a go to see if it had anything additional to offer. I have been using the Necstar product for a few weeks and have found that it preforms as good as Sleep 3. I haven’t really been able to discern any differences other than the fact that it seems to kick in faster than Sleep 3. That may be due to the fact that Sleep 3 is time released. I have found when taking the Necstar product that it works well for short sleep cycles (4 to 5 hours) as well as with longer sleep cycles (9 to 11 hrs.). I recently went an extended amount of time with little sleep and the following night for my “makeup sleep” I slept for approx. 11 hrs. During this time I awoke 3 or 4 times, but had no issue going back to sleep immediately, so this is a good thing.
While I like how the product works, for the $$ will probably go back to the Sleep 3 product when I finish off this bottle. But that is still a 1 1/2 months away and things can/may change. If I switch back over to Sleep 3 and find my sleep isn’t as good, I might consider switching back. If so I will update this review.
One thing I will note, I am not a fan of this capsule as it seems to be harder to swallow than most I am used to.

These are 5 mg capsules, not the 10 mg that I was expecting based on the title. I order, use and review many types of melatonin and there are easier to take forms on the market. If you want 10 mg you need to take 2 of these capsules whereas other brands you can more easily take a single gummy or a single, tiny, dissolvable tablet. The added herbs in this capsule didn’t do anything more for me than straight melatonin does. I would not buy these again.
