I have read the comments on this site and researched online. This product is excellent. I have been diagnosed with Bipolar 1 (with depression and mania). I was hospitalized for it, but refused to take the prescriptions after I was released. The prescriptions made me feel like a zombie: numb all over. I felt like I wanted to be asleep and awake at the same time. The physicians also told me that I had a lithium deficiency. I decided to try to lithium oratate. It has worked for me. I take one pill (4.6 mg of elemental lithium) every 6 to 8 hours. I tried taking two pills at once (10 mg) and I got a headache, felt sleepy, and felt really foggy. One pill 2 to 3 times a day has changed things for me. My mood swings have stopped, the depression has receded, and I don’t have the negative “voice” in my head (If you are Bipolar, you will understand this). I take the lithium in the morning with the Equate Women’s One Daily (Women’s Health) multivitamin: it has 100% of all B vitamins, plus iron, calcium, iodine, zinc, selenium, copper, manganese, chromium, and vitamin A, C, D (1000 IU), E, and K. The vitamins are really cheap, but good (and large in size). They are comparable to One A Day Women’s. I also take 1 pill of Swanson Lemon flavor Omega 3 Fish oil and Vitamin D (180 mg EPA, 120 mg DHA, 1,000 IU vitamin D). I also take 1 pill of Nature’s Bounty Acidophilus Probiotic (100 million organisms). The fish oil is supposed to help with the depression (it also doesn’t have the fish taste). I am going to start taking the fish oil twice a day (I wanted to make sure the fish oil didn’t make me feel nausea- it doesn’t). I only take the vitamin, probiotic, and fish oil once a day in the morning (after I eat). When it is time for me to take another lithium oratate pill, I “feel” the depression coming on. I am going to start taking the 5 HTP to also assist with the depression. I plan on starting with a low dose of 50 mg. I have read that 5 HTP will help the lithium in better controlling the depression, but won’t cause mania. I have prayed on this and it is working so far. I need only 10 to 15 mg of the elemental lithium a day: any more gives me headaches and makes me foggy. If I have trouble sleeping, I use organic chamomile tea (I prefer traditional medicinals chamomile tea with lavender). This seems to really help me relax. I also stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. I feel way more energized since I started taking the lithium and add ons. My mood is way more balanced: I feel almost normal. I pray the 5 HTP will work on the depression more. All of the pills are pretty affordable. The quality of all of them is outstanding.

Lihium ororate is not for everyone. I thank the Lord it works for me. If you have bipolar, this may work for you. Start with one pill and go from there. God Bless.

This for me is a super stress reducer. I have found no side effects, have been using for over 4 years. It has been effective in increasing my ability to focus much more than the ADD medicine I was taking but could not afford because of a layoff from work. At one point I lost my family’s health insurance because of unemployment and could not afford my son’s ADD medicine. It worked for me and I was desperate because my son could not function at school without it. It worked for me so well I started him on it and for the first time in more than 8 years he sat down and was able to focus to play games on his PC for more than an hour. Before the longest he could play a game was 15 min and then he would get up and wonder around the house. Set back down and jump from game to game. Get up and pace the floor. It drove my wife crazy.

I talked to the school to let them know I was unable to afford his ADD medicine and I had to change to something else. Please watch him and let me know the results. At school his teachers told me they saw the change, he was calmer, more focused, extraverted and social and was able to carry on conversations and keep on subject. His teachers said he was calm and able to comprehend at a deeper level the lessons they were teaching. This, for me and my son is like a miracle, all my life I have suffered from strong distractions which have caused great stress in the work environment. My son has been under huge pressure to perform from the school system, when you can’t keep focused on one task for more than 10 min it makes life nearly impossible.

A good value for how many pills you get

This is the very best brand & type of lithium orotate. I’ve been taking this exact one for years. Really takes the edge off and the difference is absolutely noticeable. I feel like it helps me sleep better. For me, taking a dose in the morning and dose in late afternoon works great. If for any reason I forget my afternoon dose, I can still take it before bedtime. Really easy to swallow, as they are so small. Seems like the uptake is pretty rapid.

Lithium orotate works well for me, and these are of comparable quality to Relentless Improvement’s. My only complaint is the dose size. Small size means I have to take more. I just wish this came in a larger, less expensive size. Or, that they were made in larger doses than 5 mg. Anyone know if that’s available? Price is why I took off two stars.

For the uninitiated, this supplement contains a trace amount of lithium. Those who take it primarily do so because they suspect A) that lithium might be essential for humans in small amounts, B) they aren’t getting enough lithium naturally via their water and food. This is not the lithium treatment for bipolar (which is still lithium, but doses 100-300x larger).

My experience? After just a few days I was fully onboard. My area does not have naturally occurring lithium in the water (it comes from glacial melt, and I guess lithium occurs more in springs that go through certain types of rock). For me I first noticed that it was easier to focus, and my threshold for frustration was much higher. The work I do is usually quite grindy and intellectual… so being able to concentrate and on the harder things longer is truly great. It doesn’t feel like a drug or anything like that, feels more like eating healthy and being well rested! I really do wonder if it is just an essential mineral that is temporary missing from our recommended daily intakes (there is some discussion every now and then about adding it).

I would like to note that the label on this lithium is inconsistent with other brands. It says 120 mg of lithium orotate. On the back it says that 120 mg of lithium orotate contains 4.6 mg of elemental lithium. Most other trace lithium products put 5 mg of lithium on their label, which is almost the same dose though it reads very differently unless you decode this lithium orotate vs elemental lithium labeling situation.
